I thought about placing this under the exhaust section ,,,, but i think this will work for all resonators and mustangs that have this similar box ... this was the 5.0 stock resonator.
this might seam like a ghetto mod but it sounds very very good....microphone will not capture how nice it sounds... loud cold start , and if you really it on it... but at cruising speeds its supper quiet.

pest part if you still have the stock resonator you can mod it on the cheap... and its underneath and out of sight.

Nice video and pretty amazing difference for very little material cost. Paid labor would jack it up a bit though.
How did the OP come up with the idea?

Seems like an awful lot of trouble to go through when a simple H or X pipe is not that expensive. Seems an odd corner to cut when you went for the additional expense of OEM 350 parts, but cheap out on a 100 to 150 dollar x pipe? Realistically, this cost much more than 10 dollars as it assumes you have a welder and the ability to operate one which is by no means a given.

the only time this would make any sense is if you live in an area that does not allow any exhaust modifications what so ever... as long as you cut open the top of the resonator so it is completely hidden during any inspections.

you can basically look a cop/inspector square in the face and say "it's completely stock... look for yourself" (while trying your best not to laugh)

With thousands of dollars in tools, you can complete a modification on your car for only $7

Good job removing the designed-in crossover portion of the resonator by closing off the perforations. What a dumb idea for the amount of work.

My thought would be to open up or remove the wall between the 2 sections for even more H pipiness(?), but who knows if that would lead to resonance...

The chambering in there along with the packing and the perforated offset piping is what is "tuning" the exhaust to be quiet and without resonance. The rear factory muffler I believe is straight through with packing. which is why it picks up volume under WOT.

Why not just spend $125 on an H-pipe and about an hour worth of work to get a much better look and sound?
