Cool. I'm assuming you are going away from Alky Control completely since you are running the Prometh pump and Cortex controller?

Correct. The Alky pump would have struggled with the amount of GPH I'll be spraying so I went with the Prometh pump which can do 50GPH at 190psi. The Alky would have most likely been at 100psi at that amount of flow. His controller would have driven the pump but I switched to the Cortex for the included failsafe features.

There's two built in failsafes which will watch meth line pressure and pump amp draw and cut boost if there's an issue. Even though I'm not sure it'll be necessary, it offers the 3D methanol control as well as boost by gear. All in one package so it was a no brainer. I'll have the AEM failsafe wired in to the boost control solenoid as well so if AFR falls outside the norm it can cut boost. Making for a total of 3 failsafes so that i feel safe running 900+ on 93 lol.

I was considering going 12:1 compression so that 950 would be easily attainable, but to keep my failsafes functional I think I'm sticking with 11.5:1. With a 5psi spring in my gate I'm guestimating I'll make 10-12psi on just spring pressure. At 12:1 compression that is still too much boost on 93 so all the failsafe features could be for nothing. I'm considering swapping to a larger wastegate so it could bleed it down further, but I'd be adding more cost. So I think I'll stick with the middle ground and go 11.5:1. Get a little more out of my blower than stock compression, but still keep my failsafes functional.

Sounds like a good plan. If in your shoes, I'd go 11.5:1 as well. Especially since you don't have an DI fuel enrichment.

Yeah that was my original plan I think I'm sticking to it. Pretty sure I'll be able to break 900 still

Progress update!

Finished the new, smaller sound system installation. Everything hooked up and secured.
Didnt take a pic of the back side but there is alot more room than before, so I'm going to be installing a larger methanol tank there. Old tank was 4 gallons, new tank is 12 gallons. Since I'm spraying more than twice as much volume than before the new tank size should work out well.

Installed the new methanol pump. PM190 from Prometh which will do 50GPH at 190psi

Got my intake pipe fixed and re-wrapped it. Upon disassembly the old meth nozzle snapped inside the bung, and the other bung's NPT threads have been worn out from changing nozzles so many times. Had a new bung welded on and just had the other one sealed up closed as I no longer need two nozzles in the intake.

Did you get the new engine put together? Looks great and looking forward to seeing that meth system work!

Not yet. I'm getting everything else set up and ready to go first. That way when I finally get the car back, it's ready to go and I dont have to work on it much, I can just drive and enjoy it.

Goal is to bring it to the shop on April 18th. Worst case scenario will be the 25th. Still have a few things left to finish!

Mocked up the intake manifold with fuel rail and meth pressure sensor last night to make sure it would all fit together properly.

Only small pain in the ass is that the direct port lines need to be removed to install the fuel rail.

Is that a pressure sensor integrated into the meth system I see?
Yes sir. The Cortex will use that to monitor meth pressure vs. pump duty cycle, as well as maintaining a min/max pressure window over a certain amount of boost, or else it will trip the failsafe.

It's the only system that actually watches methanol pressure as a failsafe feature, which seems like the most reliable to me.

Car is almost ready to send out!

Cortex controller installed, tapped ECM harness for RPM/Speed signal, ran new wiring for meth pump, etc.

Powerstop Z23 pads and rotors installed front & rear

AEM failsafe installed, hooked up, and O2 sensor cable ran, wrapped in the reflective heat tape, was able to secure it away from exhaust and under the brake/fuel lines cover

Installed the intake manifold with direct port nozzles capped off until I get the car back. Heater hoses and brake booster line routed out of the way for the direct port though.

Switched to breathers to clean up the engine bay

New XS D4700 battery, old one was shot from sitting so long.

Any worries about boost pushing out one of those direct port nozzles?

Yes initially I thought I'd have to switch to a metal intake, but Prometh assured me it would be ok and theyve done a ton of plastic manifold with no issues. If one comes flying out I'll be knocking on their door for a new intake lol
