I have a track day at NCM a month from now and the db limit is 103DB. I have catless headers + borla atak exhaust.

Does anyone have suggestions to quiet it down?

Put the stock catback on for the event or shell out for quieter catback or gamble with a resonator

+1 on on the resonator, even the stock resonator is a good option as it's basically an H-pipe with sound absorption. But with headers you're fighting a tough battle.

Do you have the 3" Borla catback? If so, the Ford Performance resonator is similar to the Borla resonator. If you have 2.5", the 60561 is a drop in fit with 2.5" Borla/FP borla systems. The FP resonator has resonator chambers but no packing, the borla resonator has packing. It'll definitely tone it down but not kill it.

Yes, I have the 2.5" setup. I no longer have the stock catback since I got rid of it 5 years ago when I got the car.

Are you allowed to use turnouts? My exhaust is a full ARH system with x-pipe and cats, and even with Magnaflow 14419 mufflers added after the x-pipe I was was over the limit one of our tracks has (96db). The turnouts get me below 96db for that particular track and are really easy to install and remove.

The FP resonator is only somewhat louder than the Borla one, which is very quiet. You’re fine.

Here are decibel readings at 6 feet from the exhaust exit. First one is with the stock mufflers and a Steeda H-pipe, max blast at startup is 105 dB. Second one is stock resonator and Accelatec / NXT Step / SVE generic axle-back. 10 dB lower at startup and 4 dB lower average sound level with the stock resonator and louder mufflers.

I needed to quiet my car for a track day, so I went with the Magnaflow tru-x resonator. It definitely quiets the car, though I wasn't a huge fan of the tone afterward. I ended up making a Frankenstein exhaust by slotting the Magnaflow resonator immediately behind the Ford Performance side exit exhaust and using baffles to adjust the volume of the side exits. I can block them off completely for track days and open them up more for the street.
