Ecoboost Tick

Anyone has an ecoboost that hears
the injector ticking at idle, I think the injectors? When cold you can hear a tick emanating from the left side towards the vent/A pillar area from driver's seat. It quiets down after warm but still slight noticeable tick. When accelerating you can hear a little, still to the left, and corresponding with engine speed. At cruise or just driving it is unnoticeable. Thanks.

I've never heard anything like that. Have you listened with the hood open? Perhaps a belt or A/C clutch

From inside the hood the engine is silky smooth. It is a light injector tick you hear from the left in the car, it is faint. The engine has its regular hum, very smooth. I did listen to a new 2019 ecoboost on a dealer's lot, it had it too at cold idle. My concern is also when driving.

Yes the ticking is normal and yes it is the injectors. A lot of people don't hear it but my ears can hear sounds like that.

It is the direct injector tick.

EcoBoosts are Direct Injected and since they operate at a much higher pressure, you will hear them operating as a light tick/click sound
pop the hood and listen at idle and compare the sound to what your hearing in the cabin to be sure.

No "tick" on these Duratec derived GDI engines, just DI noise.
