GT 500 Delivery CheckList

Again by way of email, letter and telephone call:

Remind and instruct dealer/salesperson to NOT INSTALL dealership sticker on your new GT 500 no ifs ands or buts. This is a no brainer but I’ve had to have them removed.

Since people are getting their vehicles delivered at a better clip please add any of your recommendations so that delivery can go well.

Anyone think dealer should not install oil catch can/oil separator? Assuming owner can install or have it done?

none in my car, and I have the hdl. pkg.
It looks like the camber plates do come in the Handling Package, but won't be available until Summer.

Copy all, must have snuck through under the wire then.
KB, they come with the CFTP cars. They are suppose to be shipped to the dealer like the car cover for the cars with the handling package.

On CFTP GT 500’s, camber plates come through PARTS (like car covers for all BASE and CFTP), so ahead of delivery and at delivery make sure you get them as sometimes these parts get lost in shuffle.

Thanks to all for continued info to add to delivery CheckList.

There was similar confusion with the 2019+ GT350 w/Handing Package. Ultimately, dealers have been installing camber plates on 2019 GT350s with handling packages, to include mine. Maybe it changed for 2020...anything is possible. If not, it may be useful for GT500 owners to reference what's been happening with GT350s with Handling Packages. Other than the oil separator, the packages are identical (Gurney Flap and Camber Plates).

The dealer can eat the install cost if they so choose. But Ford is now being clear about the GT500 - they won't be reimbursing the dealer.

I don't have a dog in the GT500 fight, but I see it differently. I don't think Ford is being clear when it comes to the camber plates. I think the system is confused and needs help figuring itself out.

The posted guidance does not mention the "Adjustable Strut Mounts." It only talks about Gurney Flap, oil catch can, and front splitter wickers, which can be justified as an owner responsibility to attach/remove as required.

The camber plates are a different story. Installing them is far more involved than the other parts. Per the order guide, they only mention them under the GT350, but state that they are, "Shipped separately from the vehicle for Dealer installation." They failed to mention them at all in the GT500 section, which they now admit was an error. So, as the error is corrected and they provide the plates, it's only logical that they would treat them the same as they do for the GT350.

This is an area where trying to distinguish differences between the GT350 and GT500 is not in the interest of the owner. In this instance, a GT500 Handling Package owner benefits more by stressing the commonalities: Ford/FP, why are you installing plates on the GT350 2019+ but not on the 2020 GT500?

Just my 17 cents... Good luck to all...

Ford provided clarity last week with a release to dealers on content. They have indeed been ambiguous on the matter in the past. They aren't anymore (well...note the listing for the plates on the CFTP without any install caveat....). Will it stop confusion at the dealer/consumer level? Probably not. in the end, a submission for reimbursement at this point will get rejected. Everywhere else they state that the plates are a post-purchase install to be done by the customer.

Again, they mention for installation by the customer for everything but the strut mounts. Why is that?
