This seems to be the flavour of the month on YouTube. Maybe they all had the same idea. VTuned started like two weeks ago and I’ve seen a few other recommendations with this already being done.

I’m interested to see the B version but check out VTuned as that is likely to be the better build.

vtuned looks to be just putting a coyote in an old mustang.

B is for build is putting an old mustang ON a new one.

I watched both VTuned and B is for Build and while both are very skilled, it seems wrong to hack apart vintage Mustangs.

I like seeing true restorations and not trendy restomods.

No, he's installing an aftermarket 67 style fastback conversion kit and fenders/hood on a S550. He is not chopping up an original 67 fastback.

B is for build is planning on using all repo parts which should be interesting. Personally I have never liked the attempts at grafting a vintage mustang body onto a modern frame. They always end up looking off.... It will be interesting to see if B is for Build can pull it off.

That is some absolute BS.... They own the rights to the style, not the car. The fact that they took the car instead of just allowing him to remove the "Elenore" bits is ridiculous... It's amazing how petty some people/companies can be.

I don't get how they can just TAKE someones car like that, especially since it's a 2015 underneath it.

Is it cause he was making money off of the videos or what?

Probably was a case of either share the video revenues with us, or give us the car. They went for the easier option.

They should have left it alone when it looked like a normal Mustang.

First off, you can build what you want. Ferrari, batmobile, brooklyn bridge. Second intellectual rights don't apply to an inanimate object you are NOT selling as an 'original', personal use is personal use. There's more to it than what this dude is saying.

Imagine someone building an "iPhone" by getting the shell from a company that makes replicas, they continually call it "iPhone" on their platform that reaches 1M+ people, would you really care how much work they put in on their "iPhone" or just realize they're dumb for using the name and design in an attempt to capture an audience? The cherry on all of this is he was completely hacking up said design "to make it fit better".

He would've been perfectly fine just building a '67 on top of a modern chassis. However, Chris is a smart dude and I'm sure he Googled before beginning the project and saw that's been done several times before. He deliberately used the name/design to profit, shouldn't get to just go "oops" once called out for it. In any other field the public would decry the bootleg/counterfeit version, should also apply here. And I can't stress this enough, it was a bad counterfeit to boot. Highly unlikely they took the car as any sort of monetary damages, more likely they took it to crush it so it doesn't effect the value of actual "Eleanors".
