Looking at two similarly optioned Mustang GTs; one with more miles but less warranty than the other. Price difference is negligible. I drive about 12,000 miles per year. Which would you choose? And why?

Option 1) 500 miles driven and 12 months or 35,500 miles left on original basic warranty
Option 2) 5,000 miles driven and 24 months or 31,000 miles left on original basic warranty

I'd be more concerned about how the miles were accumulated over the total number. 500 miles because the car was fired up and beaten on (no time to warm up, 5 min drive) for lunch breaks every day is way worse than 5000 miles of steady highway driving.

For me, that really wouldn't be the decision maker. You can always get a Ford ESP from Flood or Zielger reasonablely. Color, tire condition, general exterior and interior conditions and of course the final overall out the door price, is what would be weighting my decision. Go with your gut...always. Enjoy which ever one you decide on.

As stated go on Flood Fords website and price out the ESP from Ford. I believe it was around 1,700 for me to go 125k/8y's. In the scheme of things it's nothing.

I would go with the longer warranty one but with the miles you plan on putting on get an extended warranty

I would base the decision on how many miles I drive in a year. I would take the longer time because I only drive 2500 miles a year. It would appear the same would apply to you, if you drive 12k miles per year.
