Drivers side down pipe only needs very end cut off. Then you cut the u bend in half and flip, then cut to length. Passenger side down pipe has to be more modifying to fit. 3 hours to do and around $160

Nice work. Nothing like a DIY with a great outcome.

I like the work to do a custom cat delete here but it makes me wonder why is there no aftermarket option for this? I know with headers you can get a delete or "high flow cats" but I haven't found an option for just a regular cat delete for the 15+.
I know when I had my 2012 gen 1 coyote there was a cat delete option which was great instead of having to do a full header install to remove the cats. Also, from searching the forums it seems people are against doing just cat deletes unless your boosted/plan on boosting. What's up?

-EDIT-
Just freaking noticed after studying these pictures more that the reason you have to change out the header is because the damn driver's side cat is welded to it! WHYYYYYYYY?!?!!?!? Now it make more sense to me, lol.

It's not so much that, it's more the legality of it.

MAK used to have a kit with an extra flange that you're supposed to weld on to alleviate the issue you mentioned without having to swap out the whole manifold, but they had to stop offering it due to legal reasons.

Not trying to be offensive here, if someone were concerned with legality I'm not sure it makes sense to really modify a car. I get it though, seems times have really changed since I last had a mustang (which wasn't that long ago).

Yes, Ford made the drivers side as one piece on the Gen3 for some odd reason,

As for why there are no retail cat delete options? Thank the EPA for their crack down on emission defeating mod's over the last couple years,

There are no earth shattering gains from deleting the cat's. My 2018 A10 dyno'd 42xrwhp on pump 93, With a PBD E85 tune, MBRP LT's and 3" O/R Outlaw exhaust it dyno'd 465rwhp.

So I gained 40rwhp from LT's and E85, which did show in my trap speed. I went from 118,xmph on the 1/4 to 122,x. My ET still sucked @11,7xx as I was tuned using SCT and Trevor told me I needed to switch to HPT to get the A10 dialed in.

I would also advise using stainless steel for exhaust parts, that looks like aluminized steel in the pick's up there.

Yeah, I do remember this crack down issue when I owned my diesel truck...... which was of course 100% epa compliant!

The legality issue is with MAK selling it, not the end user installing it. They could no longer offer federal illegal emissions systems with the caveat that it was for "off-road use only".

It's always been illegal for users to install them, but most recently MAK was forced legally to stop selling them all together.

Yeah, I was referring to this in my previous comment when I had a diesel truck. Shops couldn't offer aftermarket tunes that deleted the emissions. All the tuners revised all their tunes and no longer supported any truck that was deleted. It sucked...and still does.

Isn't one taking a hit on some power when using the d-side 11-14 5.0 header ?
