Technically speaking it was the fuel pump transfer pump tube and not the pump itself. If it was the pump the hostage crisis would have at least three months or more.

Even if your heater hose is in the tray, it’s worth checking as it can still be on the top side or centered on the stud.

I saw a few things I didn't like which I have to thank this issue for. First, this is piss poor QC Ford. I'll get on the horn tomorrow to make sure somebody at the corporate service level is aware as I doubt the pipeline to production is as accessible. Things are tight throughout this engine compartment and somebody at FRAP isn't doing their job. If the process didn't recognize there was a potential issue that's one thing. The fact that somebody on the line didn't escalate this one is another. They can't be this blind.

The fastener coming through the firewall on my car was dead center of the hose and pinching it quite a bit. Tough to capture as the guys above me that did can probably attest.

When I rolled the hose off the point of the fastener you could see the indentation.

You have to pinch the hose with a bit of force and carefully work it past the threaded fastener (bad spot for this, was it that hard for you to have moved or shortened it Ford?). Once you move it where it should be it nestles perfectly in the cradle designed for it.

Kind of hard to capture but you can see that the hose is now free to move into place behind and below the blower case.

I urge everyone here to look closely at their own car and to not let this one go. I've only driven my car once, on a ~1,000 mile journey home from the dealer and the chafing I saw while looking at this was not something that made me comfortable.

What if you simply zip off the end of that protruding stud with a Dremel and work the hose past?

In a perfect world that might work. The reality is, the STB is in the way so that has to come off. With it removed, you'd still struggle to gain clearance for even the smallest of tools to cut so you are far better off just working it past with your hands at that point.

I don’t know who needs to be alerted but those in the know need to alert Ford. Heck I first thought it was a black snake up there. Not all of us are mechanics and forgive me but this pixxes me off. We all love these cars and want the build to not have stupid issues. Please Ford folks we support and respect you help us not have problems. My fingers are crossed!

GT 500 Checklist

Determine if your built has the heater/coolant hose issue! See: Above

Thanks
I learned today about some of what they are not required to do or get reimbursed for. This was internal from Ford to the dealer service network...

If your dealer will install the above items and not charge you then great, that's on them. I think up until now everyone thought it was their responsibility.

And I don't know why some would ship with this equipment installed unless it was for testing purposes.
Also see above as dealer may or may not install handling Package items.

Did anyone finally come up with the torque specs for the Shock Tower Brace installation?
