When I was searching for my car every car I looked at that didn't have the digital dash was passed on. It was a must for me. My last 3 cars have had digital readouts and I love it.

Very much worth every penny. IT is one of my favorite things about my car now, and as far as making it a better driving experience, hands down yes. One of the irritating things I found with the analog gauges was they seemed difficult to read at a glance. The Digital display cured that problem, I can glance down see my speed and not worry about *gasp* speeding. With the analog cluster I felt like I spent too much time looking at the gauge, trying to figure my speed, and the RPM of the engine for shifts. The Digital cluster comes with a Audible Rev limiter which is not that loud, but loud enough with the radio off...

It was one of the only reasons I contemplated an 18+, glad I was able to swap it into my 17. I would consider it one of the best mods to the car, ranking up there with the performance stuff.

I've been contemplating getting this for my 16.. I already updated to Sync 3.4 so now I'd even have nav directions in the cluster.

Probably going to see if I can part things myself online. $2,000 is definitely quite a bit. I remember pricing it at $1,700 before and that was with a GT350R steering wheel...gotta see how I found them before

Has there been any changes from 2018 to 2020 clusters in terms of features?

I am not sure about the 2018, but having recently driven the 2019 and 2020 models - and I ended up getting the 2019 with the digital dash, just to save $$$$ - I can’t see that anything has been added to the clusters in terms of features.

Totally worth it, by the way. I searched so long for an affordable 401a. I also do recall seeing a forum member here that offers to program the digital dash for you, as apparently that cuts down on some of the difficulties of the install.

The later clusters are supposed to be better, as my first 2018 cluster would blink out on me, my 2020 cluster has not done this.

Yes.
Analog gauges in other cars look “weird” to me now.

Like when you go to someone's house and they are still using a CRT television? :giggle:

I'm thinking of just going for it. Probably gonna return my Galaxy Z Flip and go for this.

I'm looking at under $1,800 once I return my analog cluster for core charge and this is with a GT350R steering wheel and doing all programming myself.

I put one in my 15. Cost me about $1200 for everything new from Ford and it was worth every penny!

What do you mean from Ford? The dealer swapped it for you?

Probably just means ordering the parts new from a dealer/supplier instead of one of the third parties that sells complete kits.
