so i am currently running a squared setup 20x9 275/35s all around. after having a vmp gen 3 put on, traction is a major issue. i was planning on running the nitto 555R 275/40 tire on the 9" wheel because thats whats recommended. this is a street car, but i have 2 questions. since i read the nittos run small would a 305 look stupid or be unsafe? and would there be any big difference from going to a 275 to a 305? the tire widths are as follows

nitto g2 in a 275/35/20 is 10.94
nitto g2R in a 275/40/20 is 10.67
nitto g2R in a 305/35/20 is 12.17

275/35R20 is what you should use on that wheel. You're not going to really hook up unless you have something like a pair of 17" drag radials though.

My favorite part of seeing people boost their cars is the struggle of supporting mods required after: tires, axles, clutch, at a minimum, as well as a decent suspension setup.

I agree that a 9" wheel will only go to 275 width, I'd like to use a 305 on my 19x10" but 295 is the rule. I have 285's sq.
