Adding hood hinge shocks?

So has anyone tried to do this - I’m tired of lifting this @#$& hood - it’s too heavy.

Was the first mod I did as soon as I got the car.
The FP struts rusted, replaced with redline and no problems in 3 years.

If you install some on an 18+, just be very careful when torquing the hood bracket bolts back down. Those tiny ass studs will snap off without a lot of force.

One of my Ford Performance hood struts failed during install.

After that, I went Redline and never looked back. They look better anyway.

yup I went with the black redline tuning hood struts on amazon, instillation was easy and these hood struts are great. One thing I recommend is when u install them go to Home Depot and get some of the thin rubber stuff u put under ur shower when ur building ur shower its gray and about 1/8 of an inch thick and it protects ur car from the brackets chipping or removing the paint underneath and stops rust. I got the guy to cut me a strip for free but I highly recommend that
and yes I know one of the brackets at the top of the pic is crooked and I fixed it lmao

and yes I know one of the brackets at the top of the pic is crooked and I fixed it lmao

My Steeda struts came with a couple strips of neoprene to put under the strut brackets. I think it also helps keep the brackets from rotating any.

This, along with pinching the washer fluid line, are the reasons I haven't purchased them yet.
