He has the stock 275/35/20 cooper zeon rs3 from Roush. I currently have the oem performance pk Michelin 275/35/19. I also have a set of sve r350 19x10 wheels w 285/35/19 cooper zeon Rs3 and a set of sve drift 19x9.5 w 275/40/19 Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 (tirerack listed as all season ultra high performance) I can bolt on. I'm not sure which wheels to run. Stock r probably most traction but also heaviest. I'm leaning towards the 285/35/19 coopers on the 19x10 sve wheels as a middle ground between weight and traction. As far as drag mode, I have ordered a sync3 upgrade kit from Hellhorse. I should have it installed and drag mode activated by spring when we run them. I want to stay away from a tune for this race to keep it some what apples to apples. He could very easily drop pulley size, tune and blow me away once we open the aftermarket door wide.
PP1 rear tires are 275/40/R19, not 35 profile. I assume that's what you meant.

A 2018+ GT A10 with performance pack and drag mode is the 3rd fastest accelerating Mustang ever released by Ford (with the GT350R only a hair behind it), behind only the 2020 GT500 and the 2013/2014 662 hp GT500. The 550 hp 2011 GT500 is slower than the A10 GT PP1 w/ drag mode. Since you don't have drag mode, I think it'll be close.

For reference, Car and Driver ran the 2011 GT500 0-60 in 4.1 sec and in the 1/4 mile at 12.4 @ 117 mph. Car and Driver ran the 2018 GT PP1 0-60 in 3.8 sec and the 1/4 mile in 12.1 @ 120 mph. The trap speed is indicative of which car would likely win in a roll race given equal starts.

So, did the race ever take place? What was the outcome, and to be honest was the OP just hoping to one-up his dad or what. If drag racing on the strip, then so be it.....but if we are talking on the street, it doesn't even matter except for bragging rights because there is something out there that will beat both.

Both cars are sitting in garages covered up waiting for spring. When the weather warms enough, I hope to meet up at the drag strip. I previously mentioned this.

I have successfully installed my sync 3 upgrade. So I will have drag mode for the race.

I am well aware that there is always a faster car out there, on the street and definitely at the strip. My only question was if my car will keep up with his or not. It seems things should be real close.

Regardless of who wins, it will be a fun day, as long as noone is injured or breaks anything to expensive.

To be honest, I think you are going to beat him to the 1/4 mile but after that, it is all his. :)

With the "shelter in place" order currently in effect, it may be awhile before I can make this happen. Maybe I can talk him into a few roll races soon. But, I dont believe the tracks are open at the moment. I will report back as soon as I have any new Info to add. Sorry to leave people hanging...I am excited to see the outcome also.

No they are not. But, you're allowed to go get liquor and groceries. Just a have a little race to the local Sam's or costco.
