I bought a 2016 GT a few months ago without really considering the reliability of the thing. It's the first Ford I've ever owned and I remember being told a lot as a kid that American made cars are garbage in that regard. My wife who was my girlfriend at thr time bought a 2003 Taurus and it died since the transmission went out. That was my fault. I should not have trusted the sellers that it was maintained. I drained the transmission oil and about 3 months later thr gears couldn't touch each other as I took out all the metal slag. Anyways, I bought the GT at 42k miles and put on about 4k myself. Another 4k will put me at 50k. Yeah, it's my daily for now and will be for a few years. Glad I got the manual clutch, but I heard it's a terrible gearbox. It's the base model with almost no options. It has the Airaid intake and muffler delete. Previous owner also put 20 inch Nich rims. If I drive it hard in the power band, it still smells weird. Makes me wonder if the dealer did a rebuild on it...

So, what's your odometer at and what's broke so far?

There's not much that breaks on these cars, unless you drive it really hard all the time.

If you provide the details on the car (options, packages), you can get better answers.

New in April 2019, now 11,800 miles. The only thing broken was the speed record on LA Hwy 754 Saturday night. Not a daily, weekends and road trips.

Now you're asking? :) The answer is, in general, nothing. Could something specific happen to your car? Sure. But it could happen to any car regardless of where it is made. I came out of an Infiniti when I bought my 15' EB. Was it built as well, hell no, but I wasn't expecting it to be. That said I now have a 19' GT/CS and after 5k miles everything is just fine.

Bought an '18 EB convertible in August of '19. It was off lease from Enterprise in Florida, yes one of those. I've bought Enterprise off lease cars before and had good experiences so that wasn't a deterrent to me. Anyway, it had 31k on the clock then and is at 46k now, it's my DD and weekend and trip car. It's just too damn fun not to drive!
My single issue with the car is a tiny square of surface leather between the holes in the heated/cooled seats is missing. I plan to have that looked at before the CPO warranty runs out at 48k.
Other than that its been perfect.

2016 gt here with 36k

No issues. All I've had to do was replace tires, and oil changes.

On my 19 ..so far so good no issues..on my 15 .I had a few problem with my backup camera and my trunk not always opening .. it was the wiring harness going to the truck the factory put a zip that I was too tight and every time the trunk was opened it was just a wiring harness and broke it.and a tailight stop working because it took in water .. the motor in 2015 was also an EcoBoost and had a leaky timing bolt on the cover...also on the 15 .. the bumper cover tabs broke off easily.

Nothing broken. :like:

21k miles on mine, I also have a truck and a motorcycle that share mileage so thats why my Mustang has only 21k. I did just pay it off recently so thats good.

I'm broke because my adult kids are sucking my wallet dry. Hope that ends soon.

‘16 with 25k and no problems. The smell is normal too. Mine does or smells the same to on some hard pulls.

I don’t think you’ll really start see reliability issue till after 10 yrs or so. Just got rid of my sons 01 GT and it was literally dissolving away. There was very little quality built into that thing.
