This was on the street with MH racemaster drag radials, no burnout. I kind of had to roll into it after footbraking instead of full flooring it because it would start to spin/hop . The damn dragy app fails at exporting the video every time =(. It spun a little when I hit 2nd gear too and it sounds like it shifted a bit early into 3rd, not sure though. I think the car could do better pretty easily at a drag strip with a burnout.

2018 GT with VMS racing wheels 17x10 and 325 45 17 MH racemaster drag radials, e85 tune only. I did install some baer eradispeed rotors too which removed about 24 lbs of rotating mass. Stock pp1 front wheels. You guys think theres any chance of 10s at a dragstrip with perhaps better weather? DA was like -50, but weve had like -1500

You will have to cut a killer 60ft to get into the 10’s, with some crazy negative DA. Is it possible.....sure anything’s possible.

I have a transbrake tune but I am scared to use it since I have stock axles. I do notice my drag radials are moving around the rim they have moved about 6-8 inches or so since I had them mounted like 3 weeks ago (all driving so far has only been on the street), I had to take the balancing weights off so it wouldnt vibrate at high speed. So that movement may be a little help for the axles to survive. These 325 45 17s are heavy 34 lbs but the wheels are 23lbs. I probably could have got 275's and saved some weight there.

I think my current goal is like 11.29's at a strip with this setup in good DA. I do agree 10s may be possible with like a 25 mph tail wind at the strip and -2000 DA though lol. I didnt remove any interior and I actually have a few things that add weight to the car- QTP electric cutouts, steeda subframe brace, steeda jacking rails.

For 10s without it being insane conditions (still negative DA necessary though) I think I would have to remove the seats, put skinnies on the front, and possibly get axles so I can transbrake launch. I dont really want to run skinnies on the street due to reduced braking potential. Not sure if there is any other mod I would want to do that could help significantly, I dont want to put long tube headers on. I suppose I could turn my stock catback into a removable system with some v-bands. Probably would take a solid 80+ lbs off and possibly free up the exhaust flow a bit.

Do you think removing the entire catback could affect the tune at all or does the car compensate for any difference in backpressure?

Skinnies are fine on the streets. My last time at the strip I drove there 115 miles each way (most of it interstates around Washington D.C and thru Baltimore) on my VMS 18x5's and I notice no difference from my stock PP1s.

Just decided to get mine installed today actually

Love the look, and I lost about 44 lbs more of rotating mass but definitely not as good of braking and obviously not good handling but they are new tires so IDK if they need to be broken in. DR's on the rear already prevent decent handling so I figured f- it lol I couldnt resist. I locked the fronts up for a sec pretty easily earlier though. Shop put them at like 42 psi, I lowered them to 38 , what PSI do you suggest? I am on M&H racemasters 325 45 17 drag radials on the rear(probably overkill for NA, and they weigh 33 lbs) 185 50 18 on the front.

I hope we get atleast a couple more cold fronts this winter here in Florida so I can get a good run in. Will be switching back to the normal wheels/ tires for the summer rainy season.

Where did you get the American side marker stickers? They look great!

I run the Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R radials on the front 28x6. They can handle Max pressure of 95 PSI but I ran them around 45 PSI at the track and about 38 PSI to/from the track. I read the Steeda N/A car runs them at ~60 PSI at the track.

What diameter are yours? They seem to have a shorter sidewall like a 26" diameter so you probably cannot run as much PSI in those.

Mine are 26" I think, maybe even less , the rears are 28's. I figured id just go as light as possible in the front, and MH made that size of tire so I went with it.

The street is a pretty tough indicator of track times. I cut a 1.5 at the track, but can only manage a 2.0 on the street with drag radials and prep.

street vs track (on the track i let out at the 1000ft due to no safety equipment).

That is interesting and a huge difference in times. Looks like you were pulling over 2g on the launch and 1-2 shift on the dragstrip and the street its barely hitting 1g. Ive got a 1.87 60 foot on the street with these MH racemaster 325 45 17's, I think I could do better on concrete possibly.

I will definitely have to hit a drag strip soon and give it a shot hopefully hit my 60 foot down by 2.5 tenths and see if I can hit 10's with my current setup in good weather.

Yes you need thinner than the OEM lugnuts, this is what team beefcake recommended to me and I am very happy with them. The cal custom spline lugnuts Manufacturer's Part Number:CAL-755514STB
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/CAL-755514STB
The lugnut used also depends on whether you have extended wheel studs or not. I have ARP extended wheel studs all the way around on my car so I use acorn nuts on my VMS wheels.

These are from Amazon and I also got a thin walled 19mm deep socket to clear the studs.

The cold weather definitely plays a factor as does the road condition you’re making a hit on.

I’m running a 305/45R17 ET-R and even heated with prep, it’s a challenge to get traction. That street hit was gently rolling into throttle. I probably didn’t go WOT until about 60mph.

i’m going to a 325/50R15 here in a few months, so hopefully that helps out. I’ve been looking at racemasters and hoosiers as well as an alternative to the Mickeys.
