Stg2 d1x . 820/590 it’s enough to annihilate the tires at 60mph. Not once have I thought that I’m down on torque.

Kind of an odd question from the OP. By low end torque do you mean off idle? These torque ratings are at 3000rpm with my Gen 1 over the last 7 years

Stock manifold n/a - 330wtq - peak 382 at 4400
Boss manifold n/a - 325wtq - peak 359 at 5500
Procharger D1sc - 380wtq - peak 507 at 5500
Wastegate D1sc - 415wtq - peak 577 at 5300
Wastegate e85 - 450wtq - peak 657 at 5100
Cams + boost - 460wtq - peak 759 at 5500
F1a94 + all boost - 440wtq - peak 880 at 7000

At no point would the n/a engine feel better than the boosted centrifugal engine. If you are flooring the car in 6th gear trying to pass people on the highway...you have a rough road ahead.

Out of interest, at what rpm are you hitting the torque peak?

I think the centri with a10 and 3.55 gears is a great setup for primarily a street car. It only takes a second at wot for the a10 to get into the meat of the powerband. Car will drive like stock below 3k rpms in normal driving. Perfect in my book.

Exactly. Most of you guys in the US on boost have automatics, so any time you punch the throttle the gearbox is going to downshift into the best gear anyway, so having a PD loses its advantage a little bit, and is only possibly relevant for 2 seconds in the 0-30 mph race as you set off from the lights from idle RPMs.

Even with my 6 speed I'd still buy a centrifugal with my 4.09 gears. It will make initial traction loss less of a problem.

Glad I'm not the only other person that sees the logic with the 3.73 and higher gears doing well with a centri.

Most people aren't logical. They just do what the masses do. Same combo as everyone else, perform like everyone else....

A couple of you guys just touched on my thoughts. The A10 will put you in the sweet spot in an instant. So I see the centri as:

  1. Less heat soak
  2. Simpler overall
  3. From what I am gathering, either a very slight off-idle loss of torque to not an issue
  4. makes as much power as anything with greater potential if you start with the right components
  5. reliable and durable
Mine is the 3.55 gear that I think is perfect for the way I drive. Starting to seriously consider the Vortech V3JT.

You get 8 rib with procharger stg2.
This was one of the reasons i went with procharger over vortech/paxton. That and the procharger blowers have a higher step-up ratio than vortech/paxton. Any of the centrifugal blower companies mentioned will make power. Personally though i think a stage 2 procharger is better equipped out of the box than the competition.

The IQ of the mustang guy I think its at an all time low. People just regurgitate the same BS they hear online over and over.

Did some checking on the Pro-Charger HO kit with a P1X. This would be a good deal from someone like Beefcake.

I may be going out on a limb here, but adding the GT350 inlet pipe to straighten out the air to the MAF, then I am "contemplating" welding a Wastegate into the cold side piping, like the beefcake torque booster with a 10# spring, and pulley for 13#'s.

Have a reputable tuner about an hour away with a dyno.
