My Stock 2017 GT C/S to Whippled build thread

Well, for anyone who decides to take a look here is some background as to whats going on. I spent the last 9 years in the Terminator world. I had a Sonic Blue 2003 Cobra that I took from stock to a 750rwhp pretty well built piece. After 9 years I was kind of getting the itch to get something newer, more comfort, better electronics and such. I had seen how bad ass these newer coyotes could be so I made the move. I ended up finding a nice fully equipped and unmolested 2017 GT California Special 401A. It is oxford white and is an automatic 6R80 car. From day one I have loved the feel and comfort of driving this car. Ford really made these S550's look killer as well.

Here she is the day I brought her home.

I had to begin to make her my own after only a few weeks of having her. So I picked up some 2019 PP1 wheels off of a friends brand new car. They IMO look much better, are wider, and have better rubber than the C/S wheels. I also got rid of the out of place looking chrome badges for a set of Ford Performance black badges.

From there I added a Thermal R&D 3" stainless catback which I love the sound of. Did a cheap airaid intake tube because it was next to nothing and i figured couldn't hurt in the short term. I had to drop the car and being that I am mainly into drag racing i picked up a set of BMR Drag Lowering Springs. Installed those along with a GT350R Steering wheel. After that I had a great local shop Papinis Garage install a set of Boundary Oil Pump Gears to get it ready for boost!

Quick update. The only exterior part of my S550 that I was not completely in love with was my California Special spoiler. So i picked up a Gloss Black GT350 Track Pack spoiler which luckily fit and covered the previous holes. I love the look of it now on the car!

Alright well I got it all mounted and done. Here are some pics during and after install. Going to hit the dyno this week and see what she is doing. Lund tuning was awesome and quick. Car runs like stock but its a beast when you nail it.

Well currently still have my PP1 wheels and Michelin tires for the street and I have a Forgestar drag pack for track use. Eventually I will get some Mickey Thompson ET Street SS tires for the rear PP1 wheels. What about you?
