has anyone removed their spring yet?

Just curious if you prefer it versus the "drag strip" spring that's included by default for those sweet 2, 3 money shifts.

You sure that spring isn't for entering reverse?

Its the centering spring. I've thought about it (or thought about seeing if I could get a lighter spring) as there's a bit more shift effort going from 3->2 than with the stock shifter. Every upshift is fantastic, but the 3-2 became considerably slower. A weighted knob could help with that some.

My favorite change to the 350 despite it, the MGW is just top notch.

You are correct! It's an 8 - speed Tremec with the two lowest gears locked out from the factory :like:
HA. For me, she's a 3 speed

Wait so what you guys are saying is there are more gears after 1st gear? And here I've been wondering why the RPMs are pegged at 70mph!!!!

I love the MGW. I have a weighted knob from Billetworks (sp) and find it easy to down shift from 3rd to 2nd. But I'm also not being track aggressive in my down shifting either so.....I'll shut up now and go back to playing with my little green soldier figurines.

A weighted knob is a big help. 3 ->2 is very stiff but the raceseng knob resolved most of my issue with it.

A weighted knob really makes that much difference?

madlag, Thanks for the link. I assume you have the ashiko model. Sure looks like a high quality product.
