I'm just curious How many here bought an auto because they never learned to drive a stick? When I bought my car I asked why they had it on the lot as long as they did. He said 80% of the people when they opened the door and saw the stick they just passed on it. Now I know some will reply that they were looking for the new auto. But that's not my question, my question is how many out there just never learned to drive a stick shift? Oh I prefer a stick for the fun factor, I feel I can make the car do what I want when I want, which for me is more driver control.

So, you only want people who don't know how to drive manual transmissions to reply? I'm guessing you won't get many responses. I would be very surprised if you got 5 responses that can't drive manual.

All the cool kids say they can drive dual clutch transmissions :sunglasses:. Regardless if it does have it in the auto tranny or not . Although to answer your question, yes I can drive anything from 3spd to 7spd stick.

That's ok. You are right who is going to admit to not knowing.

I think you are misjudging the appeal of the modern automatic transmission and the Mustang client base.
No, as I said just curious about how many just don't know how to drive a stick. It has absolutely nothing to do with which trans is more appealing.

I can operate a backhoe, front end loader, bull dozer, motor cycle, but I must admit. Driving an MT82 equipping Mustang might be the biggest challenge.:giggle:

I learned on a 47 Plymouth you had to double clutch. I had a 53 Chevy with "3 on the tree" and the linkage would jam about once a week so I had to get under the car with big screwdriver to pry it free. But OP is looking for people who can't drive stick, not those who can.

Well it is fun to read a story every now and then about a carjacking that failed cuz the crook couldn't drive a stick. I'd almost think it funny if a carjacker killed himself in my car - as long as no one else got hurt.

My brothers first car was an econoline murder van with 3 on the tree. The only reason my dad got him that was he didn’t want to get an f150 to haul a small boat around.
