I've been saving points on the credit card for 5 years and finally brought home my Kimber.

Stainless Raptor II...full size and absolutely beautiful. Damn near too pretty to shoot.

It's probably going to stay mostly a safe queen, but I'm sure I will get the itch to warm the barrel up now and then.

It's my second 1911...I also have a Ruger SR1911 that I really enjoy. But the Kimber feels so much smoother when working the slide.

So far my only negative thought of it is when I insert the magazine, it needs a very firm hit to get it past the retainer. The Ruger slides in easy. With that said, it is possible that it may wear out of that. Either way it's not really an issue.

Purty. I don't have a Kimber 1911 (I have others) but the Kimbers I do have (K6s and Evo SP) have impressed me enough to make adding one a future priority.

Yeah, that’s a nice buy. You should probably run it in at the range to fix that magazine stiffness.. haha.

Yeah, put 500+ rounds through it and it'll be smooth as butter all around.

Your magazine stiffness will lessen over time but it likely won't go away completely. I've always had to insert the mags with authority on all four of mine. My wife used to work at Kimber when we lived in NY and we got some screaming deals on display pistols they wouldn't sell to the public.
