I thought this would be about the carbon deposits that DI engines leave on valves but instead that article talks about the extra pollutants that gas direct injection engines supposedly put out. Either way, I try and avoid them if I can (or have port injection included as the '18+ GT has).

No matter what new tech comes out, someone will be there to disprove it.

GDI has its advantages and disadvantages just like anything else.

I would rather burn more fuel than emit particles. I think particles in the atmosphere is a real concern for air quality.

Burning gasoline if it's burned cleanly - now that seems a lot more acceptable to me.
