Apple Car Play Help Please .

Hi Guys and Gals. I just picked up my 2015 Mustang Gt Premium today and I didnt do enough research it does not have apple carplay. Now I've read up about getting a new usb that goes into the center console and doing an update from ford and all is well. I tried doing this with the usb. It didn't work and it says when i try but says ford is discontinuing this service. When i registered on the site it says I'm up to date. It seems like the 2015 models cant get the update to get carplay. Is this true?

I wanted to mention i have Sync2-V3.10 up to date as we speak.

thank you for the response. I cant get it on sync2 and it seems like i cant download any other version of sync to make it capable either seems like i hit a brick wall in this, sucks.

If you REALLLLYYY want it and have the funds you can buy the kit. I did this for my friends 2015 F150 and it only took like 30 minutes to install.

Indeed, Sync 2 is not compatible with Carplay or Android Auto. You need Sync 3 for that.
There's no software update to Sync 2 that can solve that (in fact, version 3.10 is the most recent one anyway). The hardware and the operating system are completely different.

thank you for the help. Basically i need to update the headunit if i want car play. I know infotainment sells them and i think there about 1400, are they the only ones that sell the upgraded head unit?

Infotainment will probably be the cheapest and easiest option. 1400 is not worth it for just that feature.

ya i agree its mostly my wifes car she will be driving it. If it was me I wouldn't care at all. I appreciate the help and advice.
