Well picked up two nails in my rear tire. I'm used to buying offroad tires for my other rig but not sure where best spot to get street tires. I am going to run 305's for street. I'll buy others for track if decide to have fun on the weekends.

I figured as much, I'm trying to stay with 19's. Just curious which site would be cheaper.

TireRack.com has been reliable and good prices for a long time, I usually start there and if I’m shopping a local vendor, I check TireRack’s prices before I buy.

I got 3 of the 4 Firestone Firehawks from my local tire shop. The 4th I bought from tirerack since the local guy could not source it quick enough.

you've got the wheels for 305? Your profile doesn't imply you do...

I’ve found local shops to be unreliable in sourcing specific tires. I tried for years before emotionally connecting with tire rack. The problem after that is the local tire guys aren’t very eager to mount tires you didn’t buy from them.

I don’t frequent the guys (ahem Discount Tire) that give me trouble or charge more for tires I didn’t buy from them. I’m willing to pay as much as $200 for a quality shop to do a set of tire changes, but there are local places which charge $80 for a set and do good work. We have local places that will come to your house or work to do the tire mounting (mount and balance equipment in a trailer), and I try to source the tires from the local guys or at least give them a chance, but if the price difference is too much or timing is a factor, Tire Rack gets the nod.

Ford dealers will price match. Wal-Mart is actually one of the cheapest places to buy tires. When I swapped out the 305 SC2's for 305 Bridgestones, my dealer price matched Wal-Mart for the tires and charged me $20 per tire for mounting and balancing. I do trust the service department at my dealer though. Some Ford service departments are questionable.
