For the ones who have ordered a VMP blower, how long did your shipping take?

I ordered one on January 6th.
Still not here and I did hear possibly a month before it ships. Not worried about it but ready to get that extra power!!

Try contacting VMP perhaps or wherever you ordered it for a status?

The VMP blower setup is really nicely done. Its worth the wait. I have only one complaint and it's not a big deal. They stuck the evap purge valve on the back of the blower case on the driver side and its a $-$&%#$!! to change out after the installation is done. Just had to do that repair today. Otherwise, flawless. You will be very happy with it.

Which blower did you purchase?
The VMP Gen 3R is beastly.

Sorry not to have all the dyno info. I bought the car with the blower kit already installed from a Ford dealer's used car lot, and they didn't even have the handheld device used to tune it. I was able to find out that VMP tuned the car in 2018 and it made close to 700 HP at the wheels, but that's about it. The car has the gen 2R system as supplied by VMP and VMP fuel pump booster. I think 79 mm blower pulley. There's also an AEM water/methanol injection setup, but that was only for safety. It was tuned for 93 octane. Just by seat of the pants comparison, it seems faster than my 03 Terminator, and that had a Whipple 2.3 and did 610 to the tires. If you bought the gen 3R you should do much better than that.

I went with the Gen 2R. Not looking to break power records as I don’t want to have to replace the MT82 or multiple other parts of the car too soon after boost is added lol.

Great choice on the Gen2R. That compressor will do 900whp all day if you want it to.

I did that. I wanted to see what people experienced in the real world instead of just going with what the vendor said.

Thanks. Maybe one day I’ll get to that point. Going to ease into it and try not to break the car. Any advice on what tires for street use at the 600 WHP level?

I have the 8 inch wide 18s with the stock 235’s. I know I need wheels but don’t want to rush that at the moment as I want to be absolutely sure I’ll be happy with the way they look.
I’m HOPING I can get away with throwing some Michelin Pilot Sport AS3’s on the stock rims for now. The car is not a DD, but I do drive it year round.

In the real world, my experience was mixed. You guys are gonna think I was nuts, but I bought the car without knowing a dang thing about what it had other than the VMP Gen 2 kit. It was on a Ford dealer's used car lot in Daytona Beach. The price was about what a plain old GT would cost - basically the supercharger, water injector, pump booster and CS package were free. Unless the drivetrain was hammered because of abuse or a bad tune, there really wasn't much way to go wrong with the deal. I made the mistake of asking for help on another forum posting some pics of under the hood about injectors, MAF, the usual. Got nothing but snark in return, other than a post from Chuck Harter at VMP of all things. He contacted me separately by email that VMP had tuned the car. I asked if they had any information, like what injectors, pulley, etc. but he went radio silent. Contacted their tech help and got no response. So, what it looks like from your end is you may get good support if you buy from them. As a second hand buyer, not so much. Too bad, because I was willing to buy a handheld and drive back over there to get it retuned just to have the information and a known tune file. As you might expect, the dealer "didn't have" the handheld used to tune the car. So for spite I didn't give the dealer my SCT X3 for the 03 Terminator I traded. Still on my bookshelf.

VMP Gen 3 kit installed nearly three weeks ago, purchased used back in September from another forum member. Had to purchase a few parts the used kit was missing. Tried contacting VMP to talk about tuning it and options they were not very helpful with any info. Contacted PBD they were very helpful so I went with them for tuning. Once the tune gets nailed down the way I want it I'll make an appointment for Dyno numbers. Very good products from VMP just not great info on support for used kits.

with the holidays, we all move a ton of kits, whipple is normally 2 weeks, and they are pushing about 8 as well. new orders will be back to about 4, but please be patient with all the companies as they get blistered. this year was worse since black / fri cyber monday carried into december, so they didn't get the normal 1-2 week break inbetween b/f and xmas sales
