Are these any good? on a 2.75" pulley with slip, is going to a 2.8"/2.7" griptec likely to help? obviously trying to avoid shelling out for the full 8rib setup :(

I can't seem to find many or any examples of these being actually used with success. People suggest them, and vendors obviously say they're great, but has anyone actually had slip, replaced with one and it solved the problem?

thanks :)

I run Griptec... its very good. High quality and and comes with a hub that makes changing pulley sizes easier.

Gates makes a RPM belt specific for SC cars. Take a look

thanks for this. can you define "very good"? you had slip and switched to a griptec? or it's just a pulley that works as it should?

hub sounds interesting, will look it up.

I had slip at approximately 11 psi in the upper RPM range. Griptec eliminated it.

I run a 3.25 griptec with a 6 rib gates micro-v series belt on a whipple setup with no slip. It’s a very nice piece that does what it says. Boost is rock solid up to 7,500.

How small a pulley? And was the griptec a like for like swap?

2650 beef cake special with stage2 and 6 rib. I only run the car on e85. I’m a puss about the high compression, boost and pump gas

You will eliminate slip with these pulleys, for their price, they are well worth it. I've seen customers have serious belt slip and swap and totally fix all their issues. Hit me up if you would like to get one ordered up. https://www.lethalperformance.com/s...d-mustang-gt/pulleys-2/sueprcharger-pulleys-2

I've got one to go on my Edelbrock, is there a specific belt compound recommended? Long life is not really a consideration, car gets less than 5k per year.

On Goldmember when we went 8.97@151 we were running the Whipple 3.50" upper with a 20% lower. Our datalogs with this setup showed we were losing some boost at the top end. We made a few changes to the car before taking it out again which consisted of the Whipple CJ tensioner plate, BMR front and rear bumper supports and a Griptec 3.50" pulley. Next trip to the track yielded us an 8.64@157mph and we saw no signs of belt slip at all. The weather was a big factor in the improved ET and MPH but no belt slip definitely made a difference. I highly recommend going with a Griptec pulley if you currently don't run one. It's a great product that work as advertised.

If you have any other questions regarding their products please let us know. Below is a link to some additional info on Griptec just in case you're interested.
