What gear ratio did you end up running? I'm on 4.10 auto and I find it annoying now in butt fuck traffic Los Angeles. I'm thinking of going lower but can't decide on 3.31 or 3.55 for a naturally aspirated car.

My auto car came with 3:55 gears factory. First gear is very short. Almost too short. Go with 3.31 much more functional on the street. Unless you drag race everywhere you drive.

Love my 3.73s on my full bolt on N/A setup. Raising the rev limit to 8k gives the 3.73s more room to work

I have a '15 GT PP with the 3.73s. The only time I wish I had 3.55s is when I am at Watkins Glen. I would rather not go into 5th gear towards the end of the front or back straights so I just sit there close to 8k RPM for a little longer. When I autocross the car the gearing is real nice, as long as the tires hold up the power gets to the ground well.

I’m almost full bolt on e85 minus the intake manifold and injectors. I have 3.31 gears and I feel it is nice on the highway. I don’t know how it would compare to 3.73 in a roll because though they are more in the power band, they have to shift more. If I start in third on say a 60 roll, i only need to shift once or twice while racing.

Hi all,

So my purchase date is approaching soon and I have a question. Before we get into the question though, I need to explain how the car will be driven. From point A to point B with mixed highway and street driving. To car meets an hour away from home every now and then, highway driving. Road tripping and canyon cruising. Occasionally, but not very often a straight 30,40, or 50 mph roll - very occasional though. Overall happy driving - but nothing intense.

I'd also like a decent fuel economy. Not sure how good a V8's fuel economy is going to be with my heavy foot, but if I could at least get a couple of extra miles to the gallon, even better.

So my question is 3.31 gears, 3.55 gears, or 3.73 gears and why?
My 2016 GT premium came with 3.31's, with the MT-82 Speed (only 6th gear is overdrive, 5th is 1:1) RPM's are just below 2k at 70MPH and i was getting 29-30MPG highway and 16-17 city on stock coyote 5.0 N/A. 2 years ago, installed supercharger, now 25-26 MPG highway and 12-13 city. I expected mileage to go down after installing a supercharger, even when not in boost it still and additional parasitic load, but the FUN FACTOR makes it worth while
