I’ve got a 2016 GT that I’ve had since new. Last week I started smelling a new smell. At first it kinda smelled like diesel exhaust and I thought it was the truck in front of me. Then I noticed it again the following day, but I was behind another diesel truck so I ignored it. Later when I pulled up to a gas station I was still smelling it. At this point it smelled more like burning oil. There is no visible smoke, I opened the hood and checked the oil level and it was perfect, no visible leaks. Anyone have any ideas?

Brakes? It's a different scent...but can be confused. Alternatively, exhaust leak?

Well I didn’t get elbows deep in the engine bay, but I didn’t see any leaks around the valve covers or heads.

You will have to get underneath to see if that is the leak, it won't be visible from above. Mine had a similar smell, under the car I could see the oil dripping onto the headers causing it.

Thanks for this. Just got my car back today from having this fixed. You were 100% correct.
