... and, no joke, it seems like every episode has at least one, typically two, and often three 60's Mustangs either roll through the background at some point or be featured as a car that is chased or owned by one of the characters.

I know AMC was providing cars for later years of the series, but for the first season (1968), if Ford wasn't kicking in for product placement, they should have been.

In another episode where Malloy and Reed are being hassled by a couple of guys, one is driving a 1969 Mach 1.

Oh schnap!

I used to watch ADAM-12, along with Engine 51... and I Dream of Jeanie, The Beverly Hillbillies, My Favorite Martian, Mr Ed, Little Rascals, The Three Stooges... All in the Family, The Jefferson’s, Sanford & Son, Good Times, What’s Happening....

What good shows TV had back then....:giggle:

CHiPs always made me kinda laugh, as either the opening or closing (or both) scene invariably had some poor guy run up a ramp of some sort and flip their car.

As for Charlie's Angels, Farrah drove a Mustang II (let the hating begin!).

Because I had real Minis when I was young, whenever I'm watching shows which are UK based, I always look for them in the background.

Oh, I thought he was referring to hating on the Mustang II. ;)
LOL, I was. As a wildly hormonal 14 year old at the time, I would have given my right testicle to spend a night with her.

What Mustang II? Oh that white thing? :) Yeah, your right. I have never really understood the hate for the Mll. It kept our 55 year legacy intact.

Well, in my case, it was released just as I turned 15, one year away from being able to "have" a Mustang, and looking at that as my new Mustang option was awful. The fact that there was no way I could have afforded a new car nor would I have been allowed to have a sports car as my first car never entered into it.
