Didn't feel like reading the whole article, but not rivals in any way. STI shines off road and on wet and snowy roads. It's a rally car. GT500 shines at the drag strip and road course.

I don't get the point of this comparison at all. Comparing Cobra to STi made more sense then the Cobra was 390hp and the STi was 300hp ~5-600lbs less, but now its just pointless.

That was a strange article. Lots of big words without saying much and stories of politics? $64K for a Subaru STI that looks like it was modded at Pepboys? No thanks. And this from a former Subaru WRX/STI owner of multiple generations. Feels like a pure moneygrab by Subaru to prey on those STI loyalists who will pay that much for something that costs almost double the price of a base STI with similar performance.

It seems that Ford has not given the magazine companies any test mules, so they are writing puff pieces using borrowed cars.
Car & Driver had that lame drag test and R&T produced this weird comparison. The real head to head fight that they seem to
be avoiding is the GT500/C8 match.
