Finally reaching out to ask this after years of frustration.

I had an S197 06 before my ‘15 S550.

In both cars, I cannot have the windows down whilst using the windshield wipers, for anything. The liquid, whether it be rain or wiper fluid, pours, not drips, into the cabin from both the driver and passenger side all over the door panel and seats.

The rubber inserts on both sides are in-tact and fine.

Girlfriend’s Camaro and literally every other car I’ve driven you can have the windows down in misty rain or use the wiper fluid to clean the windshield and no liquid will drip or pour into the damn car.

Is it just my luck with my 2 stangs or is it like this for everyone?

Washer fluid? That spots up the glass and roof. Microfiber cloth and Windex.

Does anyone make window shades for S550s?

So far, haven't seen any available. It’s probably a difficult design to work with since the 1994 to current model year S550 has been a frameless door around the window.

On the older Mustangs with framed doors, there were (2) versions:

1) 60s-80s the metal “Ventshade” would be secured to the top of the window door frame by usually (2) self tapping sheet metal screws.

2) Late 80s to about 1993 Ventshade was the black plastic design; they were secured to the top door frame by 3M VHB tape in the same fashion.

After 1993, the Mustang had frameless doors starting in 1994.

To do anything like those prior Ventshade designs, the part would have to be 3M taped to the A-B pillar middle roof section. Even once something like that was in place, it probably wouldn't look good at all and it would probably be intrusive when trying to get in/out of the car.

Cheap enough, its a fix.

I would take it through a car wash with those.
