Was just thinking about this while watching a video of a Redeye weighing 4460#.
I know I’ve seen at least one base GT500 weigh in at 4080# in private owner hands.
The CFTP cars are hard to find, but has anyone seen one weighed privately?

Base was 4080 with no gas. Motortrend weighed both the base and CFTP

Base-4150
CFTP-4050

I am also interested to find out what a GT500 equipped with the CFTP option will weigh and will also tell you that a couple of months ago I weighed my GT350R Base model and it came in at 3620# with very close to a half tank of fuel.

That’s weird my 350R with a tip top full tank was 3740 .

Based on the weight of your R model I am suggesting that your R model has the Electronics Package thus the increased weight of your car.

If you do in fact have a Base R model then something does not add up as I weighed my car twice at a certified CAT scale off of Interstate10 in Phoenix and in both cases the weight of my car came in at 3620#.

Isn't that about 45-50 lbs difference just in gas? (~6lb/gal * ~8gal ... ?)

So now you're talking ~70bs, maybe like @PP0001 indicated, base vs. electronics, plus some slight scale/calibration difference.

So no, we haven’t had a CFTP owner put one on the scale yet?

Mine were on corner balance scales so I def trust it as accurate , but yes I went with a radio and AC lol and even had all the trunk junk in . Also find it best to do with a full tank as it takes any “ almost” 1/2 tank variance out.

You can also trust the weight of 3620# from the certified CAT scale that I used as well and in fact I weighed my car on the same scale twice in a row and drove on from two different directions with the result being exactly the same.

Obviously the weight of your car is based on an Electronic Package car with most of the extra 14 items on your car not really weighing a great deal but certainly the lack of an AC unit, radio, speakers and a trunk void of a tire inflator kit, trunk tray and liner would certainly make a difference.

3620# (with a "pretty close to half tank of gas" wt) + 1/2 tank of gas (8 gallons at 6.7#/gal) = 3674# with a pretty close to full tank of gas.

3680 isnt bad. One of these days I will find enough time to worry about it and get mine weighed.

My delusional goal is to get a CFTP down to about 3800#. Now that will be something.

CAT scales, while accurate, still have an accuracy expectation of +/- of 20 lbs at 2,500 lbs. So, the GT350R that weighs in at 3,620 lbs could be as low as 3,600 (not likely), or as high as 3,640 lbs, depending on calibration, etc. That's less than 1%, so not a bad accuracy reading. For the other guy, 3,740 lbs would be 3,690 lbs if you took away 8 gallons of fuel (to half tank). Factoring in the +/- 20 lbs there, equates to a possible range of 3,670 to 3,710 lbs. So, if that car happened to actually be at the low range, and the other guy happened to be at the high range, they could be as close as 30 lbs apart (small chance of that scenario where both are at opposite ends of the spectrum). Or, assuming the opposite end of the spectrum, they could be as far apart as 110 lbs (for similar fuel levels). It's not very likely that they are 110 lbs apart either. Anyway, just food for thought.

Yeah, like I said, not likely, but that's the range with the tolerances included (and both at half tank of fuel).
