5ohdaddy, out of curiosity, what other items are you replacing at 50K since I'm almost getting there too? Other than tires, oil, filter, air and cabin filters and topping off the coolant I haven't done anything else. I was going to attempt spark plugs at 50K but there isn't many good videos on how to get to them all easily.

The spark plug nearest the firewall next to battery is a pita. I think it's #8. I tried swivel sockets, adapters everything and gave up.

Kong, that's why I'm afraid to do it myself. I like working on my cars but Getting to spots like this is why I could never be an auto mechanic.

Chances of the sock being dirty / clogged are rare unless you have a habit of dumping foreign objects down your fill tube.

Replaced the fuel pump in my 2008 fx35 with 120000+ miles and the inside of the tank looked spotless as was the fuel pump filter sock.

I saw a post on here about gel shit from e85 clogging the filter sock but I can't rmemeber the context of it or why it was happening.
