I really have an open hood.:) i need a close system. Rain and water will flow through. Also i believe a close system will also have bemefit for the air intake temp.

Absolutely nothing to do with CAI but where did you get your hood vents from and did you keep the stock "nostrils"?

ill go with a JLT.
im buying also the prefilter waiting for some kind of cover. I will create some L shape bracket to hold a plexiglass cover. cause the JLT box doesn't have a flat top to screw in the cover.thanks for the input.

the box for the 18 is better done and easier to cover with a Plexiglas.
120mm well tested and proved CAI on mustang.
My tuner advice
easy to resell.
also I had a 'special price ' :)

...In my discussions with cp-e, one of their employees ran it on his 2018 Mustang and said it fit fine. Not sure why I had trouble with fitment. I still have the intake assembly, sitting in the box looking for a new home.

I've now tested the following on my 2015 GT recently:
JLT - 110mm
JLT - 120mm
Cp-e - 110mm
Roush - 105mm

One weird thing - for some reason the JLT 110mm showed a consistent 1 lb/min extra MAF than the 120mm version. The 110mm JLT I observed the highest peak MAF lb/min numbers.
CJ Pony Parts did a video on the cp-e, and Bill Tumas was very impressed with it. He said something to the effect of it being one of the best-fitting CAIs he's seen.

Regarding the MAF testing, you listed what you tested, but unless I missed it, not the results. Overall, which offered the greatest performance gains?

I have a 2015 GT now, with a Roush CAI that was on it when I bought it used. I'm getting a 2018 manifold. I want to change the intake at the same time, and would prefer to go with a closed box system. I've been told to go with a 2018+ CAI because of the throttle body being at a different angle. Based on what I've seen so far, including the CJPP review, I'm leaning towards the cp-e.

I've been very happy with the GT350 airbox, FWIW. I use it with the outerwears pre-filter and it has no issues with heavy rainstorms or car washes. I also have the velossatech big mouth and the grille opened up.
Does the Big Mouth actually do anything? I mean, does it provide a benefit that can be measured?

It provides ambient air rather than engine bay air that has been warmed some
But the new 18 airbox ( not sure about the previous models..) Has a long tube going till the the grille opening..

The 15-17 has pretty much the exact same thing.

But saying it provides ambient rather than warmed air doesn’t really say if there’s any actual performance benefit.
