For some reason they wouldn’t let me take either for a test drive. But here are some pics. Never seen the GT40 in the flesh before. I’ve seen both the new GT and the older GT. Someone in my town has the older GT. Here are some pics. Both are pretty small. The new GT is bigger than the GT40 but not hugely.

And if you were ever wondering what the huge dip/hole in the hood is for for either of them. It looks to be a radiator with some fans on top for cooling. Presumable the plumbing goes all the way to the back for the engine. Same on both.

Correct, radiator up front, plumbed to the rear.

The original Ford GT40 tops my list of most beautiful car, followed closely by the Lamborghini Miura.

It is a beautiful car. They really knew how to make cars look amazing in the 60s - early 70s.

The older GT40 definitely looks like a replica. Was the owner of it having difficulties deciding if he was car #19 or # 20? LOL!

Take a 2018-19 GT and sock it away for 2-5 years, then cash out....

I think they look good, but to me they look purposeful. Basically they were designed to be fast, and form follows function.

I prefer the Pantera by far over the GT40 as far as beauty goes.

I think the GT40 is prettier, but yeah.

An acquaintance is selling a Pantera project and it has me thinking. But luckily he wants too much for it and I have no room for it....

I've always wanted a Pantera. Think he would take a C5 Z06 in trade?

Is that the DeTomaso? I've always though that was an incredible looking car.

You might not believe it and I'm not sure I do... Could have been something else very familiar but I swear I saw a Toyota 2000GT driving down the Freeway this morning (I live in LA so I often see special cars)... But the Toyota I think there's barely any around, like a handful tops. Couldn't get a picture though.

I suppose it could have been an early E-Type.

Doubtful, he's trying to reduce his vehicle count. He was looking to get about $60K out of it with stock powertrain, which is plenty but it's completely rust free, painted but needing complete reassembly. If you want his number, shoot me a PM.
