Looking for some wheels, and saw a s550 fit the wheels I was looking at (xxr559). It was a non-pp brake (which are still pretty big imo) and the wheels fit fine. (Specifically this one https://www.fitmentindustries.com/wheel-offset-gallery/802892/2017-ford-mustang-xxr-559-stock )

I have also bolted up ecoboost PP wheels onto the pp1 brembos and they cleared fine.
For reference, Ecoboost PP uses Base GT brakes.

So is it safe to assume that wheels that clear non-pp1 base GTs will clear the PP1 brembos?

No.

That said, many 19" wheels will clear, very few 18" will.

Bah! Lots of 18’s fit PP1 Brembo’s, HHR, ForgeStar, Apex, etc and virtually any flow-formed or forged wheel with at least a medium concave and the proper offset. These pictured are OEM racing wheels 18 x 10 square on my 17 Mustang GT PP, Flow-formed and cost less than $550 for the set.

No you can’t assume that, the PP1 brembos are larger.

That said a 19x10 ET40 is very likely to fit, so I think you’re good to go.

I made a thread on this in the tire and wheel section with a list of all those I physically tried on my car.

I measured the minimum radius that would just touch the widest part of the 15” 6 piston Brembos on my PP2 and got a measurement of approximately 8 5/8”. This is eerily close to the value in this document

https://www.racetechnologies.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/1N1.9047A.pdf

I think the aftermarket Brembo listed is what we have on PP1 and PP2 . I would feel pretty confident that if the manufacturer says these brake template values will work with their wheels, it will have a rather high probability of working on a PP1 or PP2 15” 6 piston factory brake setup. I was told this template is aftermarket and that Ford would not release the factory template for their Brembo brakes

You can use a calculator like this to get an idea how different size and offset wheels will fit

What's making you say that those are aftermarket? The document clearly says 2015+ Mustang and there's only two sets of Brembos for the S550...the PP1 and the GT350 (well 3 now with the GT500).
The vendor that sent it to me told me the document was for the aftermarket Brembo made for the 2015+ Mustang. Because of the agreement with Brembo, Ford is holding that information and would not provide it to the wheel manufacturer so this was the closest they could get.

I picked up a set of those 5 spoke wheels Ford put on the '15-'17 Mustangs including the GTs for my new '18 Auto GT to drive in the winter rather than the summer tires the car came with in "20. Then I thought about the Bullitt which has pp1 wheels and the 15" brakes. Does anyone know if these "18s will fit? They are wrapped in 235/50-18 AS tires.

It is unlikely a 18” rim will fit over the 15” Brembo brakes. On my 2019 PP2 which has the same as PP1, I measured the widest part of the brake radius and got about 8 5/8”. A template I was given for aftermarket brakes claims they are 220.7mm radius. Double these numbers and compare them to the narrowest part of the rim. As long as you are say over 17 1/4” In diameter, you should at least clear the brakes. There are other measurements in that template you can use to see if the depth of the wheel as compared to the hub will fit. It is found in post #8 above.

Take some measurements and find out

When I get back to my home there, I will take both cars out, and check specs with the front wheels off. Then, if there is clearance, try putting the "18 on my pp1 car (bullitt). If it fits a think a lot of bullitt guys might try this as the wheel is closer to the original Bullitt wheel.

Do you know if it is because of the inner diameter or the depth, i.e. the thickness of the 6 pistons on the Bullitt vs the 4 piston? I have a set of spacers and wouldn't mind driving the Bullitt on clear winter days but don't want to wreck the Michelin Pilot 4s summer tires and their poor grip in the cold. Just wondering....
