Hi all.

I know there have been a couple of threads about tunes on the later cars with GPF but the ones I have read went of on tangents that didn’t solve my dilemma.

I don’t want to go down the route of trying to delete the cats or GPF so I’m looking for a mild tune to match the cat back exhaust, cold air filter and 85mm throttle body I have ordered.

I also read that not many tuners are supporting GPF cars because the US don’t have them so there is no incentive for them to develop tunes.

what I’d like to find out is if anyone has had any success getting a mild tune for their GPF car without a delete.

As you will know, for historical reasons the majority of the Mustang after market appears to be U.S. based.
This can be restrictive for U.K. owners of the S550.

While waiting for my car, I started a thread about reaching 500 BHP, NA.
I believe the concensus from current owners was, inlet, exhaust, tune/map.

However, as you point out, I suspect that with the exception of perhaps California, the MY18> S550 doesn't appear to be fitted with GPF in the U.S. & so U.S. based tuners won't have much experience of U.K. GPF cars & who can say how many of those few are boosted or NA?

You might visit the Tickford website & see what they can do. Not sure if the GPF gets added to the Australian S550.

So I guess it may be you fit your hardware & either see if Palm Beach Dyno can assist as it appears some folk have done (CraigJ) or you find someone here in the U.K. who will write a map or tune your car on a rolling road.
You might want to contact MAP in Leeds as I'm told they have a rolling road & do Mustang work.

Haha.
Yes it’s Gas Particulate Filter in this case unfortunately.

the new Gen3 engined cars are fitted with them in the EU.

PBD can tune with GPF in place
thanks.
How do they work.
Is this a tune I can add to one of those devices that allow me to upload and switch back to standard?

You buy a N-gauge or SCT device and load the tune to the device then upload to the car.

You can return to standard but it will still invalidate your warranty.

just something to keep in mind. Ford will know the ECU has been flashed and can void the warranty on the drivetrain.

Best solution without invalidating the warranty is to install 4.09 gears. It will feel like you have added 100hp to the car in 1st through 4th gear.

Thanks for all your replies guys.
I’m assuming the whipple guys are for if you buy one of their superchargers. Which I’m not ready for yet.
Interesting what you say about tune and putting back to standard voiding stuff.

I will talk to my dealer as he is kinda upgrade friendly and ask his opinion about a mild tune just to match the intake parts.

once I’ve confirmed I’ll dig in to the names suggested.
I quite like the N-Guage device as it looked like it does more than just upload tunes.
Any opinions on the real life usefulness of these features?

Your warranty will be voided, unfortunately it does not matter how good friends you are with the dealer.

If Ford asks for the data they will see it right away. If they deny any warranty work or not to e.g the drivetrain is another thing. If they deny any work to be covered I don't think the dealer will cash it out for you :)

I would skip out on the CAI and TB. If you want real gains go with a drop in filter and E85 tune.
