So, we now know that when our cars click "received" status, this means the car has been produced, released, and now received by the associated transportation company. My goal here is to ONLY track how long it takes our cars to be loaded onto which ever type of transit trailer (OTR or rail car) and click the "In Transit" status. This seems to fluctuate by how many cars are traveling in a certain direction, and how long it takes to fill up the trailers.

I though starting a thread to track how long our cars are sitting on the lot would be helpful. We might see a pattern, based on destination state, how long it takes to start transport.

Because transit times are so unpredictable due to travel time, the amount of stops, and many more factors, I was not going to track them. I feel once your car enters "In Transit", the Ford Tracking Website does a good enough job with the ETA. Earl's (Snoopy49) suggestion to add the number of days to deliver was a good one, so I will add that to the last line of data entry as well.

If you car made “received” status with the primary status being "awaiting shipment/transport", and and you want to participate, please reply and I will continue to update post #1 for quick reference.

I though starting a thread to see exactly what cars have actually left FRAP, and are clicked “in transit” on the tracking website, would help us quickly check just how many cars are getting out the door.

If you car made “received” status, and the moved to “in transit”, how long did this take?

Also, where in the country is your car shipping to?
All this is in post #1 in the 2020 GT500's Scheduled For Production thread. If anyone wants to copy over the relevant info, feel free to do so.

Looks like they already had a fairly full car of other vehicles heading to Indiana as 729 only had one day in the yard.

I'm selfishly curious to find out how many days it takes a train + truck to get down my way. <smile> Let's see, Mr. G says it's right at 1300mi to Houston. Figure 20mph average for the trip which equates to 65 hours or basically, 3 days. Four hours to me from Houston by transport so there's another day making it four days as a wag. With my luck it will be three times that long! <chuckling>

Enjoy your Sattidy nights, gents...

I agree, but it needs to be the first post so the information doesn't get lost in the inevitable noise. Lucky for us, this forum allows us to edit our posts, so it is easy to keep the information in one post up to date. I will still keep my thread up to date, any of the information there can be cut and pasted here.

Earl, you are correct. In no way did I intend to take away from your hard work. You have been a god send to us, and your thread is a staple and I am grateful for it.

What I am trying to do here, is generate a timeline only, showing simply how long it took for a car to go from received to shipped, based on where in the country it’s going. I figured this might give us quick list to reference to get a guestimate how long our cars sit on the lot before shipping.

I also agree, and planned on keeping the information in the first post so everyone can get to it easily.

After reading Kent’s reply I think I would like to add a timeline for how long it took to arrive..

Example:

VIN 0954
State: MA
Received: 11/19
Shipped: 11/??
Days on lot: ??
Days in transport: ??

I do not have spidey senses though, so I will only track the people who post in this thread :like:

I would go with this:
This would give you the total days between rolling off the assembly line and dealer delivery. Released is the most allusive status, It can stay in this status for quite a while before it changes to Received and at other times it changes so fast that by the time you check the status, it seems to go from Produced directly to Received. I have only seen the Released status a couple of times.

VIN 0954
State: MA
Produced: 11/08/2019
Released: 11/19/2019
Received: 11/19/2019
Shipped: TBD
Delivered: TBD
Days on lot: TBD

TBD - To be determined.

As of today: This is all I could find, so there may have been a few I missed.
Released = 12
Received = 9
Shipped = 6

I’m assuming mine is in the received count, but not yet been released going on 2 weeks. I have faith now that we are seeing “ in transit “ it will go soon! Although I have to admit seeing my Ford track adding days to deliver eta isn’t fun!! It actually added 2 day yesterday, lol

We went through this with GT350s. The transit times are all over the place. Mine was ordered by Keller Bros in Pennsy and "transit" was over a month
