how would you rate the difficulty level to install the full tilt boogie unit do-it-yourselfer or shop only?
I had my race shop do it, I knew I couldn't, and there were a lot of hours spent inside the rear end, which I didn't expect and it is my weak link on cars.

Good info...thank you. Regarding the diff cooler: what brand diff cooler does for use on the Shelby? Possible toinstall on our PPL2 cars?
Did you install the cooler yourself? If so I could use some pointers. I’ve had it sitting in my dining room for six months.

I would have a professional or shop do it, unless you are experienced. There is a lot that can go wrong.

I watched this and sorta had to agree with some of the criticisms, especially the "gutless after third gear".

So I had to drive mine today to ease my mind. I feel much better now. I think he's full of excrement.
I only made it 8 minutes into it but this guy is an idiot. He ramblings on and on about nothing and then dismisses a 10k dollar price difference between a car. The logical comparison would be a used GT350.

His rambles on about tires. Oddly enough just about everyone of these have new tires a few thousand miles into ownership. Problem mostly solved.

The heat in the diff as I understand it, comes from the internal workings of the limited slip and not externally.
mechanical friction is definitely an input but the exhaust is radiating tremendous heat into the cast iron. Cast iron sheds heat very poorly. Active cooling of the lubricating medium is obviously very nice to have, but the problem appears to be mostly solved by wrapping. That may not hold if you drive really hard or your sessions are 30 minutes long and closely spaced - ie you're an HPDE instructor.

Unfortunately Banks Power isn't interested in taking a crack at a finned and scooped diff cover. You'd think Ford Performance would take up the mantle but they solved it with $1600 in pump and radiator solution. Castings aren't sexy I guess.

Fewer moving parts in the diff cover, and could have even made it capable of some preload on the diff caps. Looks like an opportunity to me...

Do the 35s fit up front without issue when you go full lock on turns?
UPDATE: I've been hearing a rubbing noise when hitting a bump during turns (left or right). I haven't pinpointed the area but I'm pretty sure it is rubbing on the top part of the fender. My alignment is currently stock.

Question for my fellow PP2 owners:

How many PP2 wheels/tires can fit inside the car?

I had a set of winter tires mounted a month or so ago.

I took out the trunk mat/carpet and placed one tire in the wheel well. Then I folded down the seats, pushing the passenger seat forward a bit, I was able to get the other three Cup 2 tires into the trunk.
