When i said beat i meant pushed to the limits, from my reading of some of your posts it sounds like you have pushed the car to all its capacity, or maybe im just not reading into your posts right. I understand you didnt take offense, i didnt mean any offense given. Just that we have a group of guys that seem to know how to drive these cars properly and now getting a 500, so it wont be the typical rag testers that are seconds off what the car should be doing.
It's ok. As I said, I took no offense. No problem, we are good. Again, thanks for the vote of confidence.

Just because you see two cars out on the track at the same time doesn't mean both cars are going flat out. Believe me, it happens all the time.

Right, but they could be, and they might've not even been on track concurrently, maybe it was two "reasonable effort" laps.

I guess I'd say, let's play: they were both laps with some focus, the timing was accurate. You know, if/if/if, and IF those are comparable times, that's a stunningly faster lap time on that track. 6.2s? Hell, even 1/2 that is pretty amazing.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I believe the 500 will be in a different universe than the 350. My point was only that many times different drivers on a track have different agendas. I cant stand the parade lap people who are nothing but in the way. Where I frequent, you cant pass unless you are signaled (point by or turn signal). It is frustrating to be held back due to someone else's lack of SA or agenda.

Maybe some don't want to accept the fact that the 500 is faster, but sooner or later they will have to realize that it is a completely different animal. I've said it all along since the early days, the 500 is the next iteration or progression and it would be a complete failure if the 350R could hang with it.

Here's some interesting reference times - just the top 10 - hard to know exactly how the car was setup (I removed "modified" but it didn't change the list):

And of course, that's just reported times, but the "fast cars" are big HP, with very track specific type hardware.

Id like to see an example of a single skilled driver on the same day on the same track who is familiar with both cars provide data. A few drivers come to mind, one of which seems to have disappeared after the Vegas circus sideshow. The other? Its just a matter of time before you see such a comparison in Motor Trend magazine.

350 runs same time as a ZL1. That’s not hard to believe and the gap could be that big.
Not on the same tire. Both are on 305/315 Cup 2s. Despite the 230 hp difference and a bit more downforce, on a short track like Grattan, no way. That's not factoring in the 350 lb weight delta. 3-4 seconds with the same driver seems realistic.

Not on the same tire? Both are on cup 2? Same tire? I’m confused.
Tires are listed here?
