How do you flip the front seat forward?

How do you flip the front seat forward to access rear seating?

  • I use the proper handle on the back of the seat. I'm not a heathen.

  • Who reads the Owner's Manual? The seat recline lever almost works just fine!

I've noticed a bit of variation in how people access rear seating in these cars.

The only reason I use back of seat is that it returns to seat back position that it came from.i have back issues,so keeping the same position

For me the handle on the back of the seat is inconsistent, so it forced me to just regularly use the reclining lever.

Wow, must be a slow day on M6G that we're having polls and discussion on how to recline a seat.

That is my experience as well when my daughter goes in the Mustang, that back seat handle never works correctly.

When you fold the seat forward, does it return to your preset level of recline? Or does it go to the full upright position and you have to readjust to your preferred setting?

The latter was how it worked in my 2011, and it bugged me.

If you use the "proper" handle it should go back to the preset level.

Edit: corrected because nothing from Ford always works as it should :)

For me, almost. My passenger seat works perfectly this way. My driver's seat works this way half of the time, the other half it almost returns to that position but seems to be half a click off. What results is that the "recline lever" a the bottom of the seat is "up" and the back of the seat lever will not work again until I move the seat just enough using the recline lever to get it into proper "down" position. A tad bit annoying, but there are certainly worse problems in the world so I just deal with it.
