All,

I recently sold my GT350 to get a new Gt500, but looks like the ADM are here to stay. I thought about another 350, but I miss the whine of an SC also. I would love to get a 2011-2014 GT500, but not sure how forgiving they are on the roads. I hear the stories of the Z06 Vet being the most dangerous. The Dodge HC, same thing and how it can't put much power down. I would like to be around 600HP Supercharged and very forgiving. Was the 2012 GT500 easier to drive because only 550 HP vs the 650 for 2014? Not a fan of Camaro for sure. Would tires alone solve any handling issues on previous GT500? I see a 2014 for sale with lots of goodies like control arms and tires. This is summer driver only. Trying to go under 70K new or 50K used. Best power and control among cars. Thanks.

Maybe a cts-v3 , I totaled my cts-v2 though with 630rwhp but I had stability control disabled. If you just leave stability control on youll be fine. V3 arent the fastest car but they are nice, do a pulley swap and a few mods and it will be fast enough. They are pretty rare and hard to find, I had to have mine shipped from Virginia to Florida.

102k msrp 2018 for 66k there^

You could also do a SC packaged 10r80 GT and be faster than most things.. for like 42k brand new (more if you get a pp1 400a or 401a package and options). Lebanon ford whipple package. The traction control on GT's is awesome and not intrusive at all, I keep my stability control on and it only kicks in to save you, you can rip 200 foot burnouts if you stay straight enough.

^ that Roush may keep resale value a bit better than normal SC'd GT. Probably a good value and custom everything basically, and 5 year warranty.

There's not so much "handling issues" as there are "driver issues" :)

I've driven a few '13/14 GT500s, stock and modified, they're pretty easy to handle, but that's within the context of it being a 662 - ~800HP vehicle. There's only so much tire, so much grip, so much electronic intervention, when you start getting into those power levels, it takes a lot of driver focus.

I have a buddy with a Hellcat Charger, pulley/exhaust, probably putting out 750-775HP, it's easy to drive, even pushing it a bit - but do something dumb, and sure it'll bite you in the ass, that's just physics :D

I'd say the hellcat is the most forgiving. I've drove a few. And they seam to lay the power down better than other SC cars. Maybe its the mass? Or the softer suspension settings?

The pro car reviewers mostly love the new wide body Hellcats. They say that the Hellcat is a blast to drive. I'd say you should really drive one and find out what you think. The Challenger is a nice big comfortable car. If you are mostly street driven and not looking for a road course car, I think the Hellcat would be a great choice.

I'd be in a Hellcat if I wasn't all about turning corners. For street use I would love to have one.

Thanks! I am considering the HC WB and Redeye as they run 70K-ish. Not bad price per Horse. The 500 looks, turning, handling, and rare status stand out for me...and others. The HC does not stand out among the lower trims in looks.

Very true. If you are looking for a car that stands out, the Hellcat doesn't fit that bill as well.

<-----you see what I drove for the last 10 years. It had a 2.3 Whipple and did 610 to the tires all day long. 50,000 miles on the S/C without a hiccup. Considering a downgrade from a GT 500 to a GT 350? No way!

Even the new GT came with a VMP blower already installed. I'll never go back to a N/A car.

You shouldn't rule out hell cats. They are awesome and very daily driver friendly less fuel expense lol. The manual ones are awesome but the autos will hook up a lot better. Had one for a few years and it was a blast. It's big but handled well for its size and was very comfy

IDK. I think the new GT500 may take the title of most forgiving along with best performing.

It seems anyone can driv it fast and not have to wrestle the thing.

That's why you get both. HellCat for straight line speed and GT350 for corners.

If I had the cash I might do that. But I would probably spend it on more track days. Two nice new summer cars are too many up here in the great white north. I'm considering avoiding even owning a single nice newer car in the future. I can wait until they are 2-5 or even 10 years old and check them out for a lot less $$.

Easily better to just get a gt500 , zl1 1le , z06, or supercharge a GT imo. Or if you want some luxury and space the cts-v3.

Yes. I see these cars in garages for months while the white stuff is falling outside. I couldn't do it. I'm too old for the cold.

I agree on the new car purchases and pricing. It pains me to see the sweet spot of the cars I like msrp at $70k. I buy used mostly. 2-3 yrs after the hoopla dies down and the car deppreciates by 20grand.

Redeye wide body on nitto NT555R's will be very comfortable, fast and forgiving. I may replace my current Hellcat in 2022 with a 2020+ GT500 but will easily go with the Redeye if the Shelby pricing is still ridiculous.
Hellcat has trouble putting stock power down on factory tires but is very manageable.
