How do folks like android auto? I've read reviews and pretty much all over the board. Is it worth it?

AA requires an APIM from a 2016 or later, with Sync 3 2.2, though Sync 3 3.0 works best.

Your 2015 has Sync2 and if you have the touchscreen, MyFord Touch. These cannot be updated to use android Auto. You have to switch the Sync3 (2016 & up) which means swapping out your entire unit. Read the link you were given. It explains everything. Only you can decide if it is worth the cost.

THose are the expensive way to go. You can get it done on your own for about a third the cost.

Why would you push those two overpriced places when there are people on here that can get it done for him for way less with new parts?
Oh come on....pushing. I sent him a couple of websites.

How do folks like android auto? I've read reviews and pretty much all over the board. Is it worth it?
The OP asked about Android auto. Since he has a 15' I thought it best to let him know that his car, as is, is not upgradeable to have android auto. The massive Sync 3 thread was posted but OP then asked about the APIM module. Still had to get OP to understand Sync2/3. Figured the easy way was to send a couple of sites that make it easier to understand. Education was the purpose not pricing.

Multitask explained that they were/are, in fact, expensive and there are cheaper ways to go. Should OP want to go upgrade to Sync 3 I'm sure many others will recommend cheaper places to buy from.

Wow, those are pricey, just for technology that's going to change in another few years. I figured I would at least be able to keep the touch screen already in the car. Thank you for the enlightening.

You can do it yourself for way less that those two places charge.

There is a guy selling like new take out 2019 APIM and Screens in the classified section for $250 all you need after that is the USB hub which is like ~$40, a GPS antenna ~$40 and a plug and play hub harness from @HextallS550(not sure on the price but not $1200+), He can also get you the correct GPS antenna. Then just some simple Forscan programming and you are good to go.
