As the 2018 5.0 now uses the same PTWA cylinder coating as the GT350 5.2, we may see more of these failures.

Ford engineers say that the plasma transfer wire arc coating is super durable and that the cross hatching is still visible after 200,000 miles....so I doubt the issue is there.
I'll take the chance to have a true 5.0.

So the 19 regular Shelby and the R have different motors?

all cars get the R motor now, even the non-R chassis.

So I have a new motor but the clutch was sticking 1/3rd of the way to the floor every time I put my foot in it. I’d have to pull it up with my foot :curse:

Took them 35 minutes to get the clutch back to normal. She definitely sounds and feels much smoother than I remember. Still a GT350, but before she would piston slap at anything under 200 in the right conditions (off or light throttle between 2-3k) but now she sounds beautiful and clean.

The note on the paperwork said cylinder 4 main bearing was severely scored and I think that’s also the cylinder they found oil on the plug. I’m glad to have a gen 2 voodoo.

Should I need an alignment.? The car seem to be tracking a little differently now, and the steering wheel looks slightly off center.

It's definitely encouraging for the 2019/2020 models but I am struggling with paying $10-12K more for a 19 over a low mileage 18 that has almost the full warranty. With some of that savings I can buy an extended warranty and not worry for 10 years about anything.
I'm in the same boat myself.. do I pay the extra and get the 19 ... hoping I don't have the drama of the 17-18 models or do I take the savings and hope I've got a good one.. leaning toward the 19..... just can't look at the used 17-18 listings anymore LOL...
