Finally made it to the track with my PBDyno 93 octane/boostane tune and ran my best time so far on 3.625 pulley. Time slip in the frame was my first 10 second pass with a slightly modified whipple tune. The slip on right is from my PBD tune same pulley.

Never had my car down the track to get a direct comparsion but the driveability and overall power and response of the car with my Palm Beach Dyno tune feel amazing. So far to date the car ran a best of 10.8 at 136MPH on 94 pump gas, 2300 elevation and 3100DA on that run. It's a 6MT car and on stock axles still so my 60ft was a 1.87...lol.

Very nice. I am hoping for a high 10 with mine real soon. Just completed the install- Gen4 stage 2. Automatic. I will be very disappointed if I dont run a high 10 first time out. Yes Im running drag radials so it will hook.

Lund tuned my car, never had the Whipple calibration. The drive ability is stock. Idle might me a hair rough if I want to be picky.

The tune is conservative. I am only running 17.5 max timing at WOT while seeing -3 to 4 Knock. Boost is a max of 13.4 at 7700 with the 3.625 pulley(stock headers/cats). I literally only have 20 miles since loading the last tune, not sure if the ECM will adapt as I drive more.

I also have a 100 octane tune that I haven't loaded up yet so I am curious to see the timing there.

If your looking for every last pony you may want to discuss your goals with your perspective tuner in advance. I am largely OK with the conservative tune as I have stock OPG for now. However I will say I do get a little timing envy looking at your post.

Welcome back btw!
Are you running the 3.5 pulley on pump gas?

Yes on good fresh 93, there are no issues. No timing being pulled etc. I monitor KR closely, my ngauge is set to flash red when it goes positive.

So I decided to give the 3.5 pulley a try earlier this week at a local dyno party. I also took the time to clean and oil the air filter, which is the first time I've done it with 14,000 miles on the odometer. I couldn't believe how dirty it was compared to other cars I have owned in the past with similar style filters. I guess it gets dirty much quicker as its pulling in much more air? Nonetheless, I had previously made 741 whp and 551 ft lbs with 3.625 pulley, 93 octane with boostane shot(96 octane) and PBD tune commanding 22 degrees doing 5th gear pulls on same dyno.

First pull below was in 5th and second pull was in 4th to keep the wheel speed down. PBD and 3.5 pulley for the win!

I gained 7 MPH going from Whipple to PBD on my 17 stage 2 gen 2 auto with a 3.625 pulley in the 1/4 (128-136mph). The Whipple tune was hitting a limiter or something in the 3-4 shift and falling on its face hard. Whipple said this was intended to save the transmission. Time went from 11.1 to 10.5, but I also changed wheels and tires, so that is why I listed MPH first for a more accurate representation.

please don’t get me wrong as I also went from whipple to PBD, but could the gain you see be weather related ?
Whipple run was in June and PBD in October .

I went a best of 10.2 @138in fall weather with the Whipple tune/3.625/93 +boostane.
Car went 10.0@138 the next spring (in Low DA ) same pulley//duel with PBD tune .
By summer I had dropped down to a 3.25 and fastest I could musterwith race gas was 9.9@139.

My best of 9.7@141 so far has been in the fall as expected /same pulley but E85 .
Fastest trap has been 143 mph in very low DA.

I may be wrong (maybe I have a hurt motor ) but I do think Lund tuned A10/whipple cars are going much faster . May be it’s in the trans tuning ?
I plan to find out for sure next year once I make sure my motor is okay .

I am in the same boat as you guys running the Whipple Tune{10.80ET 132MPH).The Whipple Tune has sure been safe and fun.I just do not think it is worth the trouble for a after market tune for me at this time.JMO

I’m on a PBD tune with e85 (no return style system) and 3.85 pulley. Went 10.08 @ 144mph in 2100 DA.

Hi Everyone, first post on here. I have a 2018 10R80 mustang for a little over a year now and was slowly adding more and more to it without voiding the warranty. The need for more power got to me and well about 2 months ago, I just said screw it and got a Whipple Stage 2 kit installed. Live in PA and the DA has been horrible to go down the drag strip. The strip I go to is around 1200 ft elevation and the DA has been around 3-4,000 ft. Finally on the 24th, DA was about 2100 ft when I got to run my first 10s pass (10.9919 @ 137.70 mph). I know its 10.9919, but it still counts to me, especially since I'm on just street tires (Firestone Indy Hawk 500s). Hoping to be in the low 10s in the fall when it starts to cool off and I buy some radials. What do you guys think it'll run with radials? Whats your thoughts about the build so far? Any suggestions, please let me know. I'll add some pics of the car, time slip, and vids.

Mod List:

Whipple 3.0L Gen 5 Supercharger w/ OS Heat Exchanger & Catch Can
1 7/8'' Texas Speed Catless Headers
3'' Corsa Extreme Catback
ID 1050X Fuel Injectors
Boundary OPGs & CS
132mm Throttle Body
3.875'' Pulley
DW400 Fuel Pump
Tuned by Palm Beach Dyno
Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs & Sway Bars
Lethal Performance Bread & Butter Package
2000 hp DSS Halfshafts
Runs on 93, with a lil Boostane for safety at the drag strip

wow!
Was the above time you ran in July with the Whipple tune ?
you picked up almost a second ET and 7 mph with the PBD tune/E85 , I assume drag tires and same pulley in same DA?

Never used the Whipple tune, always had the feeling an aftermarket was better so just went to PBD right away. Better ET was from drag radials, E85 tune, and BAP to be safe. Everything else is the same from before. Launched around 1400rpm before I was doing 2500 but trans didn’t like. These 18+ Mustangs run night and day with E85.

wow . That’s a lot of mph for a 3.875 pulley !
Any weight reduction ?

I don’t have headers (cat deletes ) but it still looks like it’s time for that compression test for me if I am trapping same as 3.875 pulley with a 3.25 pulley in better weather .
