also paying for top notch brakes then putting a normal pad on them makes very little sense to me... same as putting cheap all season tires on something that you bought because it's fast and handles well... but to each their own i guess.

i'll have to look up that video of his. do you know if he shows how to do the parking cable in the rear?

he also just got a new 2019 kona blue R (selling his red non-R).
I think the video shows just the fronts. He was trying to eliminate the squeal. The rears are EZ peezy bro. The pads remove straight out from behind the caliper. Dropping the caliper isn't necessary. I really don't remember the rears being any sort of issue for the parking cable. Just center punch the two pins out and remove the spring loaded keeper. Wiggle the pads back and forth to free them up from the pistons and pull them out the back. Insert new one same way the old ones came out. I did sharpie mark everything about the hardware to get the pins back into the correct holes and the spring back into the correct orientation top from bottom. I cleaned everything up of course while disassembled..

This guy is a doosh nozzle but it gives you the general idea.

^ replacing rear rotors is when the parking brake becomes an issue. Pad replacement is easy as you say.

Ah yes sir I understand. I did not replace the rotors at 3K miles. I doubt @lightrules needs rotors right now either. Sorry for the confusion if I caused any.

Hold on a second, where is 1600 coming from ? Disks are under 350, Powerstop ceramic pads are 46... so front can be done for under 500 shipped. Most likely rear also.
It's a Ford darn it, not a Ferrari :)
factory rotors are 250x4 plus pads and a few tools are about 1500 with taxes.

To hang the front caliper out from the rotor during a pad change, use a 180mm long M14x2.0 bolt. Just remove the top OEM bolt (Torx T60) and screw the longer bolt into the hole far enough to be stable - maybe 3/4 of an inch or so - and then remove the lower OEM bolt and slide the caliper out to the end of the longer bolt. It's not as slick as having Caliperfexion studs, but if you're only doing it once ever few years, it's an effective solution. I did it a few times before I got my Cali studs, and it works best if you use two long bolts with the second one in the lower position, but one's enough.

Hey guys, thanks for all of the options. I've found the parts right at the $1600 price at Autonation Ford White Lake as was suggested, THANKS. I couldn't have done it without all of the help you guys have provided.

Someone needs to buy those and share photos of them
Good thinking... I am a very long way from that, with only 3200 miles on her and one track day. It's going to storage soon for winter, so no more miles on it for at least 4 months.

I did 12k miles and 5 track days on my (now sold) GT350 Track Pack, and brake pads were just about needed soon in the front, still over 50% on the rears.... They do last a bit if you don't really abuse them.

Nice find.

I think you are replacing four rotors and four pads? I assume the brake calipers are all good? I assume so in a street car.

Yes sir! There are also several parts which are designated single use. I know that's often a scam to make a few bucks, but I'm not going to cut corners. I want to have confidence that the car is properly sorted out. Thanks again to everyone for the assists.

POST 43 ^ yes, replace the one time front caliper bolts. I assume that is what you are referencing. Another benefit of the Caliperfexion setup is no more bolt replacement up front.
