So I went to Atco today, DA was hovering around -300 to +300 but too many imports dragging water to the start line

My first ever pass in the GT was fun, just a little burnout then I rolled it off the line and put it to the wood. The car did not like that at all, horrible wheel hop off and on to 330ft, adv track even though it was off, shut the car down for a split second and the car went [email protected]

I was a bit pissed but thought to myself, the next pass I’ll do an even smaller scuff of the tires but load the converter (1400rpm) and put it to the wood right out of the hole

Car hooked, very very slight wheel hop but the car felt solid, shifted through the gears and I knew it was a decent pass

Results :
ET 12.10
60FT 1.98
MPH 117.97

If I would’ve had another pass I would’ve brought it out higher, I think it will go 11’s just the way it sits

The wheel hop is tricky. It didn’t like being coaxed out of the hole, u had to load the chassis and put it to the wood

I’m happy with the ET..I may just by the BMR lockout and DR’s and go back in 2 weeks

I think she has a 11.70-11.80 in it with those mods?

Good run! Would love to run mine at sea level zero da. I ran mine at my hillbillie 1400’ track and had real bad axle hop. Prep was non existent. A hellcat widebody auto busted a half shaft on our run. 2.1 60’ was my best at 121-122 mph trap. Had to bail out of 3 out of 5 runs. I too may pick up those BMR cradle lockouts for $109.

Yea I remember, my car didn’t like easing it out, it liked loading the converter?

My h pipe and drop in filter r worth no gain, it’s more for sound although I took 25lbs off the car removing the resonator, however you cars a 300a and your about 80lbs lighter then me

Your cars lite and so r you

I should’ve let u make a pass in my car, it would’ve gone 11’s

Nice speaking to you, if I had one more crack at a pass I think I could’ve gone 11.99, man was it crowded yesterday

Good results, Stymee. Best I ever ran when stock and on stock tires (Pirelli pzero all seasons) was 12.3. I could not use drag mode at all due to massive wheel hop on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. DA was 2000.

Once I put DRs on and could use drag mode without hop, I ran 11.89 with stock engine. My car is a 401A car with every option except PP, so it is a porker. You will get into the 11s easily in good air on DRs.

Yea I kinda thought so but am fairly new to IRS cars, I did have a few GTO’s (IRS) but they didn’t wheel hop like the Mustang

I’m going back to Atco with BMR CB005/ SBC766 and a set of Drag Radials

The only thing I’m a bit sketchy is on tire selection, stick with a 19 or go smaller 17-18 drag radial

I have to buy wheel regardless because my wheels r too narrow

Plus I also run 3.15 and will go boosted later. So I wanna buy once, leaning towards a 27.2 to 28 tall drag radial

I like the car to look right so my fronts a (255/40/19) 27.2 tall tire, I wanna at least be as tall as the front but cross the traps with out hitting overdrive and also use these for the blower too

More & more I’m thinking something in a 27.5 to 28 tall, and the math calculations say something in these sizes

I think many boosted guys use 305/45r17.....27.8 inches tall. You would need at least a 10 inch wheel.

I have been using 275/40r17s on my NA Mustang and they hook great but may be too short when I go boosted. I want to be able to run the same style rims on the back as the front so I am going to get some Nitto NT05R DRs in 305/35r19.....27.4 inches tall.

You will not shift out of 6th gear on the strip regardless of the tire you use with that 3.15 gear.....unless you plan on exceeding 140 MPH.

Yea it’s strange
The same MT Drag Radial is 27.2?

I hate when once company specs there tire a bit shorter or a bit more narrow...

That’s my problem, I wish they made black out wheels in a 19x10 but no one does:explode:

I want to run with you guys up in Atco. It will be a 3 hour trip for me to get there from Northern Virginia (Wash D.C.) area and I also have to figure out the logistics of driving the whole way on E85. But that track sits at 88 feet above sea level and I want that negative DA. Going for 10.999 with stock headers and cats. Going to run at Cecil County Dragway in 2 weeks though so may accomplish my goal there.

Cecil’s pretty good too

There’s a guy doing a rent a track Nov 15th at Atco, it’s not cheap $200 a car but no more then 30 cars and food too, both lanes will be prepped too

Its in the Tri state area, maybe u can make it? I wanted to go so bad but I can’t take off from work :explode:
