Really excited have a 2 day event tomorrow at Motor Sports Ranch in Cresson, TX.

I have probably read every thread on this subject 10 times but one question I have not seen answered or asked.

On the 2nd day I'd like to mount my GoPro and capture some video just for family and friends. I have the suction cup mount.

My question is what is a good or safe location to mount it?

Car is stock so no roll bar which seems to be the favorite mount location.

Another question is what tire pressure would you recommend, looks like Ford supplement recommends 28 psi?

I aim for 32 hot on my CUP 2 so 28 is a good start. I put mine on my windshield/helmet you may have to play with the settings very often the video is to bright to see anything.

Super cool, congratulations! Jealous! We just got 4 inches of snow in WI.

I have a very good friend that wants to run that in his Miata, please post some pics and give a review of the track and people.

Just be aware some tracks don't allow suction cup mounting alone of cameras inside the car, so may be worth checking before showing up and being disappointed.

I need to search for the post but I recall Ford said 38f/36r as hot temp for PSC2. I start out at 32/30 and it gets me right into the right temps.

I start at 28-30 cold to get to 35-37 hot usually.

ya, jealous my track season is over here Iā€™m MI, it snowed last night and will be in 20s next week! That said, snowmobile season is coming baby and itā€™s a hell of a lot cheaper doing 20 trail days vs 20 track days!

Thanks guys I have Pilot Sports.

What do you think of this setup? Doesn't obstruct my view. Probably won't capture the greatest video but....

is that stuck to your screen directly? Not sure I would do that man. Those are sensitive. If that track is bumpy you could crack that screen.

That's a good point. I think I'll start with this and verify it with the instructor. I don't believe this will restrict their view much. But then again they have to ride shotgun with a stranger wielding a 526 hp missile.

As a general rule, the suction cups work great on smooth glass (inside or outside). Not as good on sheet metal as its seldom flat. So if you stick it most anywhere on the inside glass, you will be fine.
If you havenā€™t done so, recommend you download Track Addict App and use it with your smart phone camera. If you have a current iPhone and a good suction cup mount, that works really well, to the point Iā€™ve stopped bothering with the GoPro. Although the Track Addict App will also control the GoPro for you. Have fun!

I have found video to be a pita that turns our shaky with a lot of wind. You need a pro setup to make the effort worth it.

as for timing, it just turns it into a frustration for me, someone screwing up a lap time or so excuse to get frustrated on such a fun day. I gave up on both these and live in the moment

I use the second location you show with good effect. +1 for the TrackAddict app. Easy to use.

You are going to have a GREAT time, be ready to start spending boat loads of cash on this hobby :like:
