Schaefer Oil / Moly EP Oil Treatment

Anybody using Shaeffer motor oil 5W-20 or 5W-30 in their 5.0L Coyote?

Also, regarding all the posts on engine “tick”, has anyone tried using Shaeffer Moly EP Oil Treatment? This additive should work in any brand of oil and is claimed to bond to the internal metal surfaces to increase lubricity reduce metal wear and reduce internal engine noise.

Schaeffer has been around for a long time (since 1839) but they don’t market their products. Their oil is normally compared to Red Line, so it must be quite good stuff. Several NASCAR engine builders know who they are.

As far as tick and Moly, I tried liquimoly's moly. It did not have any impact on bbq tick I had.

I use Schaeffers Moly EP. I had the tick on my 2018 GT after the first oil change at 500 miles. I now run Mobil 1 5w30 and I bottle of Moly EP and i hav ZERO tick. Just did an oil change and oil sample and everything was perfect.

Schaeffer saves money by not marketing aggressively. Why is their oil so expensive?

Their oil is very good, as premium as premium gets. I ran their oil in my 7.3 diesel for years and still run their transmission fluid in it.

I run the 9000 5W-30 synthetic oil.

FYI, Schaeffer told me it does not as the additives effect catalytic converters. Seems odd to me as it is oil, not a fuel additive. But that is what they said...
