Lebanon Ford. Warranted and on pump 93. And in full street atire, they trap 140 with drag radials and suspension in otherwise stock form...and that's with Whipple's tuning, which wouldn't hold a candle to other known names in the game. For $40k. About as valid a comparison I anyone on this forum could ever make.
Ill be at Lebanon , ford on Wednesday ill inquire if that warranting a whippled GT is normal for them.

Cool. I'll tell you what I've been told repeatedly by them: expect a 6 week wait for ordering. they do hundreds of them a year. I only live about 100 miles from them. They do a big Ford show every year here in Ohio too, big event.

Sounds good, Danielle is great, i got 2 cars from her in the past 3 months. Unfortunately someone else got their 2020 GT500 before i could and its set for delivery November 3rd.

Lebanon Ford has a nice little racket going with those promotions. Having the kit installed by them and warrantied is a stoke of marketing genius. They have neatly stepped into the space of people who want to go fast in a straight line with some warranty and not the skills or time to put these kits on themselves.

A base GT with a Whipple traps that, and has for a couple years now...for $40k. Juss sayin' be careful when adding in price per hp or doing a cost analysis on power, although I cede to you the point its a production car doing it, but for nearly 100k which isn't necessarily in the "every man's budget" as I see things. Now you can thrash me about for my criticism, but I'll also add, I'm a former Shelby owner too.
No need to thrash. Sure you can put a whipple on a stock GT and end up with 800 hp. If you want to be able to actually use the 800 hp it is going to cost you more. If you want to take turns and stop fast that is going to cost more. If you don't want everything to overheat in 10 minutes that will cost more. Bottom line is if you really want a GT that is in the same conversation as the GT 500 it will cost you at least the same. On the other hand if you are not a DCT fan it isn't a bad way to go.

Redeyes run 10.8 @ 131. Its close without a DCT. Price is close too.

Once you start the mods all bets are off. It just turns into whoever had the deepest pockets wins.

The C8 hype was extremely high, but reviews were only decent. They pretty much all said that the car looked to be an excellent starting point, but also were pretty bummed about the understeer baker into the setup. I was honestly a little underwhelmed by the reviews, hoping for the car to be totally dialed in. Maybe the GS or Z06 will get that balance right.

The GT500 was almost the opposite. I honestly still had pretty high expectations because as a GT350 owner I already know how well Ford can setup a car when they choose to. Even so, I was not expecting the extremely high praise the GT500 has been getting. It sounds like Ford has been spending their time getting this car fully sorted, and has seemed to really pay off. Kudos to Ford for a job well done IMO.

Looking forward to seeing how both cars compare directly to the competition when the inevitable comparison reviews start showing up.

Incidentally, I am a little disappointed that neither is available with a stick shift.

I first have to say, the GT500 IS A BEAST for sure, with that out of the way, Lebanon does in deed have a good performance "racket" going on there offering either Whipple or Roush supercharged base Mustang GTs or F150s for $40k, another dealer in that area called Beechmont Ford also offers those same packages, always an option for those that can't quite swing the 80k-110k MSRPs for the GT500.

I admire Ford's engineers for doing what they did with the GT500 and make it handle. God Bless America for giving us amazing options with the GT350/500, ZL1/1LE, Challenger and Charger 392/Hellcats etc.

Considering this is a ZL1 vs GT500 thread. I am going to stick with my 6MT, 3853LB, Alpha Chassis ZL1 1LE.

I'd never argue against its performance but you must know you're gonna take some grief posting like this on a Mustang site... With that said, lets talk about which car is obviously more attractive...cause that Camaro has a face only a mother could love bro.

I agree I love that we have many choices it keeps them all trying to do better. That is a beautiful car and I have been a Ford guy all my life but the ZL1 1LE is a beautiful car you are blessed to have one. I actually looked at them and they are nice but it's not a Ford (LOL) and I just felt uncomfortable in it not good vision for me that is a personal preference and I think we all buy these muscle cars more on personal preference then on the numbers they put out. Again what a great time to be able to afford and buy them we have so many great options
