Keep in mind dealers might be playing games with dealer doc fees. I had a deal on a jetski and had to walk away one time bc they tried to sneak in a $799 “dealer prep” fee and claim it was standard. Went to next best dealer who was $250 more on base price but had no extra fees.

not as big a % on a car, but something to keep in mind.

Yup. When I was shopping for mine in spring 2019 a dealership in Virginia had a 2018 GT350 listed at $55,000 (MSRP $62,000). They refused to give me a full price quote so I balked because it was a 2 hour drive. After a while they contacted me back with a full quote and it ended up being $63,000 OTD with taxes, fees, etc.

Ended up buying mine at another dealership for just over $57,000 in April ($61,000 OTD).

Dealership BS sucks.

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
They also try to reflect “savings” in the listed price of $1,000 or more for financing with them. When you negotiate the deal and want to pay cash or finance elsewhere the price gets jacked back up. Just happened to me on a new Jeep purchase. These guys have all the tricks and no treats.

That and trade in cash bonus too! I’m looking at a 2020 explorer st and the online price magically reflects $1500 of trade in cash, yet I don’t have a trade in, so have to pay $1500 more all the sudden!

if I did have a trade in, what do you think the odds of the trade in price being “about $1500 less” than market value trade in as well...

I just bought a 2019 brand new from our fleet dealer.....62,500....magnetic with black roof and every option (no stripe). 15 miles on it (7 from me). Thought it was a fare dealer they just dropped it from 65,900.

Interesting. I'm sure lots of triggers. Winter, Hellcat cheaper, GT500, 2020 Vette, and 4th full year at 525HP. They should find a way to bump power a smidge.

It has been shown dozens of times autotraders prices generally do not mean anything. You have to call many times they do not honor the price they list. During the whole ADM phase people kept posting autotrader listings like they were the first person who thought to look online for a car.

The '19+ cars use GT500 heads. Many speculate the power is actually there but Ford doesn't bother to recertify. No dire need to, really.

I have been seeing some good prices on used 17's but it seems like there are lots of concerns about oil consumption and engines catastrophically failing. I was really thinking about getting one but also just had a bad experience with a Focus RS. I wonder if those issues are partailly why cars are not selling and prices are falling. I really like the idea of owning a GT350, but I really don't like to buy brand new due to depreciation.

I would get the newest possible as the older one will be worth less out the door because it is a year older. Plus the motor might have all of the bugs worked out

I used to be a ford tech at a dealer....you NEVER get the first couple years of anything.....i dont care what it is. You should have seen all the recalls and service bulletins when the Ford GT came out in 2005 (ithink)
